Happy with this team tbh. Plenty of good bowling options, a few part-time spinners to assist Warney if conditions suit, but plenty of seamers if conditions dictate.

Good batting depth with a few genuine quality batsman. Could probably use a big hitter to finish off the innings, but overall I'm happy.

No real 6 hurts this side a bit, otherwise pretty happy with that.

International Coach
You ought to remind them that they are not playing test cricket. All the 5 bowlers i've picked have been nothing short of exceptional in ODI cricket.
'Wasim Akram
Lasith Malinga
Lance Klusener
Abdul Razzaq
Muttiah Muralitharan

says Hi!'

Wickets, ER, SR - everything is there ;)

anil1405

International Captain
I thought you would pick Akhtar instead of Razzaq and that would've made your bowling attack much more powerful and close to being as good as mine :P

As it stands the bowling average of my 5 bowlers is 22.8 and s/r is 28.7 as compared to a bowling average of 27.2 and s/r of 36.3 of your bowling attack.

Longevity? Number of wickets? 8-)

International Vice-Captain
David Gower to complete the XI.

Sanath Jayasuriya (6)
Hashim Amla
Viv Richards* (8)
David Gower
Andrew Symonds (7)
Shahid Afridi (5)
Ian Botham (3)
Brad Haddin+
Imran Khan (2)
Philip DeFreitas (4)
Colin Croft (1)

Ridiculous depth of batting, with 3 of the all-time top 10 ranked ODI batsmen (Amla, Richards, Gower) alongside three of the fastest scorers, and four more who could score plenty on their day. In the field, a steady pace quartet backed up by four all-rounders with nearly 1000 wickets between them in a variety of styles.

So my final team is:
Adam Gilchrist
Geoff Marsh
Steve Smith
Aravinda de Silva
Mike Hussey
Allan Border (c)
Kapil Dev
Daniel Vettori
Malcolm Marshall
Dale Steyn
Shoaib Akhtar

Very happy with this team with a devastating 4 man pace attack of Marshall, Steyn, Akhtar and Kapil supported by Vettori who was a high quality ODI spinner. Marsh will farm the strike to Gilchrist's fireworks. Then Smith, de Silva and Hussey are all middle order guns who score quick and big. Border adds experience to the middle order at 6 and will captain the team. Kapil was a great all-rounder who can do anything at 7 and Vettori and Marshall can bat too.
