The crowd at the final is less likely to be dominated by Indian fans because a lot of the tickets will have been purchased ages ago mostly by Australians. That's the reason why the atmosphere won't be as good.

Got me ****ed......please explain.
The author felt that, as impressive as India’s performance was, the abiding memory of Sunday’s match was the incredible crowd atmosphere at the game; and he feels that even the final at the same ground next month won’t be able to match it.

OS went all "Woah woah woah hold the phone" because he thought the author just assumed India weren't going to make it to the final, setting himself up for a massive taste.

It was then pointed out to him that the crowd at the final is less likely to be dominated by Indian fans because a lot of the tickets will have been purchased ages ago mostly by Australians. That's the reason why the atmosphere won't be as good.

LOL, Thanks for that *****...........but I got that much, 4 people posted exactly the same thing verbatim which was what had me ****ed. Thread went very weird for a while........then I worked out they are all just Burgey wannabes.

But back to the subject........it was indeed an incredible sight to see the MCG full of Indian supporters. I'd love to know what percentage of them were Indian's living on Oz and how many actually traveled over............but regardless they did their team and country proud.

A couple of my friends flew in for both the India matches and were raving about how awesome the atmosphere was even a few hours before the game. Jealous.

As the author of the article, the reason I wrote that is because tickets for the final would've largely been sold (and much more expensive) already. And - as usually the case with such events - a far higher proportion of the crowd will be corporate types going because it's an event and will inevitably have none of the passion displayed on Sunday.

India v Australia final will be a pretty good atmosphere but it won't match what it was like on Sunday.
No it won't, because a lot of non-Indian fans will have tickets to the final. It'll be more neutral.
Hardly see how you can read that into it. The crowd at the final is less likely to be dominated by Indian fans, because a lot of the tickets will have been purchased ages ago, mostly by Australians, but by different fans from all over. So to that extent I can understand why the atmosphere will probably not quite so Bollywood.

This is going to be silly but I will explain. In response to OS' post, there were four posts that basically said more or less the same thing. I felt that I should cut to the chase and instead of wording the same thoughts differently, I should just copy Daemon's post. Daemon being awesome, played along beautifully to help create a little corner of weirdness on CW.
