The Dismantling of India

You gotta bowl atleast one quick till he breaks. Cant have Lyon/SOK be your stock bowler. Start with Haze then replace him as needed.

I dont know who you have has glovemen outside of Wade tbh. Neville isnt that much better is he?

Whatever it takes!!!
I'm liking the looks of this except Wade. I want a real keeper. No use trying to get the batting output of Gilchrist but forgetting that he was a mighty fine keeper too. Unless of course Wade is known for playing spin well. I like the idea of bowling Haze until he breaks.

Well, especially since Wade is nowhere near Gilly even in terms of batting output and the fact that Gilly himself was not too effective in India.

But he was good for one or two match-defining innings per series even though his overall average was not special (first Tests in 2001 and 2004 IIRC).

There's always Sam Whiteman, son of Rich Whiteman, but right now he's more of a poor man's Nevill.

Much better with the gloves at least IMO.

Good call on Faulkner btw.

Yeah, I meant to say even a player that great was not THAT effective in India then why select a lesser batsman when he is anyways going to suck at the other half of his job, which might actually be the more important one this trip.

What's with this bowl to they break **** you sadist
It's a necessary evil

Look what happens when you cover your quicks in cottonwool like England did. More than half you overs end up being dross spin and Karun ****ing Nair scores a 300.

Bowl your quicks. Bowl them to the ground. Bring plenty so you have replacements.

Australian batsmen were unable to handle Ashwin of 2012 who ended the series with 29 wickets, it's hard to imagine how are they going to survive against Ashwin of 2016. Honestly speaking, the quality of spin bowling Australia are about to face next year will be notch higher than the one they faced in 2001.

An Ashwin injury is the one thing I can see which can derail our hopes. Honestly it's amazing how dependant we are on him. Whenever that first big injury of his comes, it's going to get really difficult. Jaddu is great, but isn't exactly capable of leading the attack imho.

On this as well, it appears that the next Test series after the India tests is the Ashes. So plenty of time for bowlers to recupriate.

International Coach
Maybe this is already a thing, but do they have specialist pitches in the nets - ie. one that is green and bouncy and another that is dry and spinny? If not they should do this. Are they really not going to do anything special to prepare for this Indian slaughter? I'm so disenchanted with Australia's will to lose.

It's definitely a thing. Not easy to replicate entirely though and it takes more than the few sessions they'll get to get used to it when your opponents have learnt all their cricket on them.

Hmmm. Then stage 2 of my diabolical plan is to offer free tuition in Australia for all Indian children. This will keep them from growing up on their own pitches. Bwuhahaha

(might also raise our school smartness scores too)

Border has only been a selector though. Wouldn't you have want some Shield or minnow coaching experience before giving him the job?

TOTAB merely needs to be in the dressing room as coach for performances to improve.
