Incidentally Morris (45) + Ponsford (54) = Total average of 99! In precise terms, it's 99.85 :)

So combined, two of Bradman's most illustrious contemporaries fail to average the same amount per innings as him.

****ing staggering!

Quite frankly don't rate either of them highly at all.
I do. Both genuine guns.

Morris has a good claim to being Aust's greatest ever opener and one of the most rounded attacking games of all time.

I think there is some criticism of Ponsford's ability against serious pace, but he was considered the best batsman in the world prior to Bradman's emergence.

I know the argument against Ponsford, though I don't subscribe to it myself. But Morris is by common consent a great opener and easily one of Australia's best. Scored loads of runs against the best bowlers of his time.

Our selections, including the order we select players in are so predictable :) I wonder what makes some of us better drafters!
