International 12th Man
I'll take the Kennington Oval, London because three of my four bowlers have excellent records there (Warne 32 wickets in 4 matches, Holding 27 wickets in 3 matches, Adcock 7 wickets in one appearance).

Plus it's close to me so travel wouldn't be a problem. :)

Cricket Web: All-Time Legend
1. Graham Gooch - England (1975-1995)
RHB - 118 Tests - 8900 runs @ 42.58

The most prolific domestic run scorer ever with well over 44000 FC runs and 22000 List A runs.
A fantastic opener who wasn't afraid to give the ball a whack.
His class is shown by the fact he was still competing at the very highest level until the age of 41 and in fact did not retire from the First Class game until he had reached his late 40s.
Besides his batting, Gooch was a wily medium pacer who recorded nearly 250 FC wickets at an average below 35.

2. Justin Langer - Australia (1993-2007)
LHB - 105 Tests - 7696 runs @ 45.27

The smaller half of one of the most dominant opening partnerships to ever grace the game, Justin Langer is a fantastic opener in his own right. Often, mistakenly (perhaps down to the fact of who he was often batting with), seen as a grafter, Langer was more than capable of playing his own shots, to find evidence for this you need to look no further than the 2005 Ashes series where Langer walked away as Australia's leading run scorer for the series. Where other failed, the little man stood tallest. A fantastic slip fielder to boot.

3. Sir Frank Worrell - West Indies (1948-1963)
RHB - 51 Tests - 3860 runs @ 49.48
LFM - 69 wickets @38.72

The first black West Indian captain, and the first cricketing hero of Barbados. Sir Frank Worrell is a true legend of the game, and the only batsman to be involved in two 500 run partnerships in First Class Cricket. He once helped save the life of former Indian captain Nari Contractor by donating blood after Contractor was hit by a bouncer from the West Indian Charlie Griffith. Worrell's act has since been commemorated by Sir Frank Worrell day in the state of West Bengal. Worrell's own life was cut tragically short as he died at the age of 42, but he will forever be remembered by those who knew him.

4. Bruce Mitchell - South Africa (1929-1949)
RHB - 42 Tests - 3471 runs @ 48.88
LGB - 27 wickets @ 51.11

A fantastic sportsman of whom few quieter or more modest men have reached the same heights. The leading run scorer for the South African Springbok side, Mitchell was a brilliant player in a side that often lacked batting depth. Ever conscious of his need to lay a sound foundation for the rest of his team, there is no doubt that Mitchell would've excelled even further in a more powerful batting team. Not content with being one of the star batsmen of the time, Mitchell was also a brilliant leg spinner though unfortunately he was unable to transfer his success in domestic cricket, where he managed 249 wickets at an average of 25.63, into Test matches.

5. Allan Border - Australia (1979-1994)
LHB - 156 Tests - 11174 runs @ 50.56
SLA - 39 wickets @ 39.10

You can't score runs if you get out could be a good way of wording Border's philosophy. A player who valued his wicket highly and had a steely determination that enabled him to score many thousands of runs and lead his side to masses of victories as Australia's captain. Rather underused as a bowler, Border was a more than capable left arm tweaker and and had a great throwing arm in the field. A brilliant allround cricket, a true all time great.

6. Shivnarine Chanderpaul - West Indies (1994-)
LHB - 126 Tests - 8969 runs @ 49.28

Despite a technique that will never be found in the MCC textbook, Chanderpaul has a natural ability of accumulating runs, though he may not compare to the greatness of other left handed West Indian batsmen of recent times, Chanderpaul has often singlehandedly carried the West Indian batting lineup since Lara's retirement and is the West Indies second highest run scorer, behind only Lara. Christened "The limpet" by many due to his obdurate batting style, Chanderpaul is one of only 6 men to have gone 1000 minutes in Test cricket without being dismissed and he has done so 4 times! The only man to have accomplished the feat more than once.

Jarquis

Cricket Web: All-Time Legend
7. Les Ames - England (1929-1939)
RHB - 47 Tests - 2434 runs @ 40.56
Wicket Keeper - 74 catches & 23 stumpings

The fact that Les Ames is the only wicket keeper who has managed to record 100 First Class centuries speaks volumes for his ability as a player, especially when you consider the fact that his career was interrupted by war. Denying him of some of his best years. Ames managed 1000 runs and 100 dismissals in 3 different English county seasons, and achievement which has only been managed on one other occasion. A formidable opponent when stood either infront or behind the stumps and the holder of many, many records. Les Ames is the first true great wicket keeper-batsman.

8. Kapil Dev - India (1978-1994)
RHB - 131 Tests - 5248 runs @ 31.05
RFM - 434 wickets @ 29.64

India's best fast bowler ever, a gutsy batsman and India's player of the 20th Century. Had he not played in an era so gloriously overindulged in fantastic allrounders he would've surely stood out head and shoulders above the rest as the player of his generation. Though his bowling may have lacked the penetration of Imran or Hadlee, Kapil was capable of bowling marathon spells, running in over after over before finding a way through a batsman's defences. His fitness and longevity adds to his allround greatness and is a characteristic that distinguishes him from the rest.

9. Maurice Tate - England (1924-1935)
RHB - 39 Tests - 1198 runs @ 25.48
RMF - 155 wickets @ 26.16

The leader of England's bowling attack for a large period of his Test career and the founder of modern seam bowling, Tate was an exceptional allrounder who recorded over 1000 First Class runs in 11 consecutive English County seasons. His easy going action allowed him to bowl countless overs without seeming to tire, he bowled nearly 9600 deliveries in the 1925 season, all while opening the batting for Sussex in a great deal of their matches. To this day Tate holds the record for the most wickets by an Englishman in an overseas Ashes series, managing 38 wickets at an average of 23 in 1924/25, this was without any useful bowling support! Tate is also one of only 9 men to achieve the double of 20,000 FC runs and 2,000 FC wickets.

10. Jim Laker - England (1948-1959)
ROS - 46 Tests - 193 wickets @ 21.24

The man most well known for his 19/90 against Australia at Old Trafford in 1956, Jim Laker was an elegant offspinner and an exceptional bowler in general. Alongside his bowling, Laker did have another string to his bow; he was a brilliant close in fielder, something quite rare for a bowler during the time he played.

11. Waqar Younis - Pakistan (1989-2003)
RF - 87 Tests - 373 wickets @ 23.56

When all around him where banging it in short, Waqar opted to go full and fast. Though not the best option by itself, when combined with big, late inswing and Waqar's desire to smash the leg stump, or the batsman's toes, it was mighty effective. His philosophy earnt him the quickest strike rate of any bowler with more than 200 Test wickets, and it could've been a lot better had it not been for back injuries robbing him of some of his finest years. His long surging run up was a sight to behold, but sadly it put huge stress on his back.

12. Fazal Mahmood - Pakistan (1952-1962)
RFM - 34 Tests - 139 wickets @ 24.70

The father of Pakistani fast bowling, the "torch bearer" as he was called by Shoaib Akhtar. In both style and stamina he was comparable to England's own Alec Bedser, with his remarkable ability to cut and seam the ball and a good pace. He played a great part in Pakistan achieving Test status and then establishing themselves as a competitive nation. On several occasions he singlehandedly won games for Pakistan, such as the Oval Test against England in 1954, where England needing 59 runs to win with 8 wickets in hand, proceeded to crumble to the genius of Fazal Mahmood
