Sachin Tendulkar passes Allan Border's record of 11,174 runs

Well I've been a big critic of Sachin in tests of late, but this is a great achievement no doubt.

Well done ! Only Lara is ahead of Sachin now although Ricky is catching up fast.

it helps now that they play 3x more matches than 20 years ago.

Sachin's still done it in fewer tests than AB, so not quite sure what point you're making there.

Anyway, congrats to Sachin. I've no doubt he'll pass BCL sometime quite soon too, but he'll just be keeping the place warm for Punter who'll smash it to pieces before he's done.

apparently im an indian hater now.

sachin is a good batsman, obviously not playing as well as he used to but id put him behind ponting, hayden and kallis atm.

obviously i was wrong from a certain point of view about the tests, but its true that they play a lot more matches than 20 years ago.

Sachin must be good if Warne rates him as the best batsman hes ever bowled to.

wd to Sachin

he may not be at his best but he still finds a way to get runs

who knows he could fend off Punter if he keeps on playing... (although Punter plays a whopping 20 tests next year and that should be enough to get him the record perhaps)

But the point is, Sachin has played less test matches than Border did to get to that mark. So did Lara.

Plus India play less test matches than England and Australia.

It's also true that Kel loves orange soda but I don't see how that has any relevance to the subject at hand either.

Congratulations to him, a total gun.

Playing for so long is an achievement in itself. Congratulations to Sachin on crossing AB's mark. Sachin of 2007 is different from the Sachin of 2003-2006 and one can notice it the way he has been batting both in tests and ODIs. Hope and wish that he does well and stays healthy.

Congratulations to Tendulkar. He got many Test runs whilst mastering the art of batting and possessing his maximum physical prowess but even now when he is the most targeted batsman, with a bad elbow and fading eye, he can consistantly reinvent his technique, almost on a daily basis to succeed and keep his place in the Indian team even with fierce competition.
