The same problem a lot of people had because of players having overs per match, so they bowl?

Nothing like Simon actually selecting the wrong side.
How is it nothing like it, when the result is exactly the same? A player with 8 or 9 overs in one-dayers not bowling at all while a bowler with 1 or 2 overs bowls 10 (when the former has been selected top of your bowling order, and the latter is not on the list at all) is downright ridiculous.

I realise the correct decision has been made. Nevertheless it is annoying that Somerset get a second life essentially because one of their first string bowlers didn't get a bowl, when the same thing has happened to me numerous times (unless you think I pick my bowlers primarily for their batting 8-) )

karnataka absolutely threw it away against mumbai.
Karn got 400, before mumbai were all out for 223, following on they hit 380, and karnataka were bowled out for about 160, losing by 50 runs.

what a disaster.

manager 12th Man said "easily the worst second innings all season, that could cost us promotion

ND Crash

ND suffered a season defining loss against Leicestershire on the weekend. The winner would sit 3rd just a few points behind Free State.
We batted quite well, Fleming scoring his second hundred of the season and pressing his claims for a spot in next seasons team. His unbeaten 173 was as classy as any innings played this season by any batsman. After making 498 batting first we were quite confident we werent going to lose, but 6/dec/600 by leics set up the match, we crumbled for 170 odd leaving them a reasonably easy chase in the 4th innings.

we were hurt by only three bowlers, in such a big match it was probably the wrong decision, but i was hoping we could make enough runs to ensure we wouldnt lose, a poor 2nd innings batting display looks to have cost us the chance of coming 2nd...

well done to dave and leics...

Leicestershire manager surprised but very satisfied with victory over ND

Manager David Comley was very surprised with his sides win over ND. Before the match he was very confident but after witnessing a great 1st innings score of 498 by ND things weren't looking too promising. Fortunately our batsmen in return piled on to declare at 6/600 with McKenzie and Piggott impressive with the bat. Piggott had been under pressure to score runs and his 140 not out certainly boosted his confidence. However, this wasnt a 4d one innings match and there was still work to be done. For the first time since the Jamaican match our bowlers then struck perfect form and managed to dismiss ND for a total of 170 which was really quite surprising under the circumstances that both sides had piled on runs. Only then was it realised that Leicestershire had an extremely good chance at which they didn't disappoint by making the required runs without losing a wicket. The much needed win keeps Leicestershire in 3rd and lifts their spirit and keeps them in the hunt for promotion. Despite the loss for ND, David Comley wishes them all the best for the rest of the season including the cup and advises teams not to ride off ND from a still theoretically possible 2nd spot if results go their way for the remainder of the season.

It isn't the same at all - the sim is the same for all teams with this sort of thing, but human error is not.

Guyana Get Wake-Up Call From Local Rivals

After crushing Jamaica in round one, Guyana struggled to overcome their local rivals in the sixth round fixture. After electing to bat first, Guyana were never able to get a partnership going, with wickets falling regularly. Lewis (58) and Jenkins (93*) were the only batsman to find any rythum against the Jamaica bowlers. Akhtar was the star with the ball, he took 5-81 and was devestating early. It was a payback of soughts for the Jamaican quick after he was handled with distain by Jayawardne and Jenkins in round one. Guyana finised their first innings with 259.

Jamaica looked to have the game wrapped up when openers Jadhav (113) and Naqvi (90) put on 198 for the opening wicket. However after Zulch removed both openers regular wickets fell. Only one other batsman made over 20 as Clarkson (4-67) cleaned up the tail after Engineer (3-66) opened up the middle order.

Guyana were hoping to chase down Jamaica's 97 run lead and post a very challenging final chase for Jamaica. However, the Jamaican bowlers had other ideas. Guyana were in early trouble at 3-75 and all batsman struggled on the wicket which was breaking up. Only captain Jayawardne with 102* was able to get anything out of the innings in what proved to be a match winning innings.

Jamaica only needed 169 runs to win, however Guyana finally showed what they can do with the ball. All bowlers contributed to giving Guyana a 22 run win, with Zulch again being the pick of the bowlers with 4-31 from his nine overs.

Guyana manager Kyle Wright said, although he was disapointed that Guyana didn not dominate the match, he was pleased that his team was able to fight back from terrible positions to win the game. He said, "We need to win games like these, where we are not in command and come from behind, especially with Free State in the next round.

"I guess the only negative to come out of this game is that we didn't get many bonus points that would have given us a bit of breathing space against Free State.

"They will be a tough opponent next round especially with Engineer out for six weeks."

South Australia Smash Queensland
Chance Of Silverware Still Small

Queensland has had a very disappointing four-day season, losing three of five games before the 'Gabba meet with Aussie rivals South Australia. And Oliver Snow and Arjen Robben were determine to wreck it further. The all-rounder pair, who has been opening the batting with moderate success for South Australia all season since manager Mørk took over. After Marsden and Steve Tikolo batted responsibly to 85 for 1, Robben wrecked havoc with the middle order, finishing with five for 23 after a fiery spell. Bundela, Yashpal, Dighton and Evans were all removed for ducks, as the fast bowler pushed them to the limit.

A batting implosion followed for South Australia, incited by Fernando, as Robben, Rahul Dravid and Oliver Foot were all removed for single-figure scores. Snow, however, made 73, and two massive partnerships for the seventh wicket (177, between Allen and Keith van Jaarsveld), and 90 (between van Jaarsveld and Indika de Saram) wrested the match in the Southerners' way, as they grabbed nine points on first innings - Queensland made zero. Despite showing more spile in the second innings, Oliver Snow still took 4 for 90, and Khan Rangnekar polished the tail with his part-time off-spin. However, South Australia's real test will come when they visit Chennai in two weeks' time, when they need a massive win to keep their hopes of silverware alive. Against Tamil Nadu's varied bowling attack of Kumble, Harkness, Beasley, Porter and Nawab, it's going to be moderately difficult, to say the least, especially on the Chennai minefield. Bat first and hope, would be the tactic.
