Rod Marsh

I was wondering if all you stats people on here could come up the number of times the scorebooks said......"Caught Marsh bowled Lillee"

This is awful news. 1972 was my first Ashes series watching on TV and he was one of the stars. He and Paul Sheahan running off swinging their bats in celebration at the Oval was an iconic moment in the rise of the Chappell era.

If I remember correctly, it's 95.

The symmetry is quite wonderful......in fact it's enough to make you weep, literally.
95 of Lillee’s Test wickets were caught by Marsh, etching the term “caught Marsh, bowled Lillee” folklore. Coincidentally, the pair each finished their careers with the same number of Test dismissals (355), claiming world records in their respective disciplines.
