Absolutely. Question the strength of the Super Smash in NZ if you like, but she looked like absolute class to me.Smith, Lamb, or Armitage could have been in the squad as well.
She's not bowled at all this Summer due to injury, and boy does it screw up the balance of the team. Ecclestone bowled well and at the right times, but she should've been held back more.Is there a reason why England have only used five bowlers when everyone except Ecclestone is going at 6-7 an over without picking up many wickets? Is Nat Sciver-Brunt not bowling at the moment?
ADR can bowl, but didn't. England's bowling all-rounders are not number sevens, so the batting is always lighter anyway. Is there a reason why England have only used five bowlers when everyone except Ecclestone is going at 6-7 an over without picking up many wickets? And once again, both her (and Hartley previously) are spot on. There's way too much smiling and laughing going on. When batters meet in the middle after an over, it's like they're celebrating having survived it as opposed to formulating any kind of plan for the next one. I just don't think they think like professional sportspeople.England vs India: Katherine Sciver-Brunt questions mindset of former side after ODI series defeat - BBC Sport A fielding error combo on this. What was a big issue in Australia clearly hasn't begun to be rectified.
I am glad KSB had the guts to say her piece. To me it looks as though they have been on a real downward spiral over the last 2 years in a continued way and what happened in Australia has only opened up a chasm. Can't understand how they can have the same happy/clappy atmosphere like they seem to have. And once again, both her (and Hartley previously) are spot on. I'm wondering what relations were like in the S-B household last night? Her comments were clearly a stain on the leadership. But NSB's captaincy has been poor and it was woeful yesterday. The choice of when to change bowlers, field settings etc were just school level at times. And how can you let your best bowler bowl out in the 33rd over? India scored 100 runs in the last 8 overs, largely because anyone but Ecclestone was bowling.
I haven't seen any improvement since the change in coach/captain, if anything, it might've got worse. Losing Knight for the Summer clearly didn't help, but things like fielding and attitude needed to change, they haven't.
They're a bunch of snowflakes. Ecclestone was saying how she nearly quit the game earlier this Summer, but the love of Bell/Capsey etc helped bring her back. All that off the back of a bit of grief following the thrashing in Australia. What did she expect, to be welcomed back to this country with a pat on the back after such an appalling display? Seems like they want the benefits of professional sport (travelling the world, earning good money etc) without wishing to put in the hard yards. You'd think mixing with the Aussies in various franchise teams might've taught them something, but apparently not.I am glad KSB had the guts to say her piece. I dont recall this. Any links?the more the infamous Richard Krajicek press conference at Wimbledon comes to mind
It was the year he won it i think. Called the women "Lazy, fat pigs" went down well at the time. Not.I dont recall this. Any links?
He actually said it in 1992, so well before he won Wimbledon. I really like his 'attempt' to backtrack....It was the year he won it i think. Called the women "Lazy, fat pigs" went down well at the time. Not.
