Cricket Web Red v Cricket Web Green
CW Oval

Scorecard
Ball by Ball

Another fine unbeaten knock by Jamee Gray ensured a comfortable win for Cricket Web Red, as they did their best to keep the race to the one-day final interesting. Gray struck 95 not out from 126 balls and guided his team to victory by 8 wickets.

Earlier the offspin of Zac Ritchie was a huge contributing factor to the Greens being limited to 215-7. Ritchie took 3-23 in an economical spell and kept pressure on the middle order while the Greens slumped to 131-6. The long tail was exposed, but Josh Forner provided ample support for Darren Dubb-Lynch who once more played saviour and contributed 50 not out. The Reds set out to chase their modest total full of confidence and started strongly with an opening stand of 46 within 9 overs.

Matt Luff was lbw to Ethan McNamara for 22, but Sean Bennett took his place and played with as much assurance in a second wicket stand of 74. When he was out to Gundry for 37, CW Red needed 96 off the last 24.1 overs. Kenny Dobson helped ensure that there would be no drama in that equation. He ran hard between the wickets and notched 58 from 55 balls, hitting the winning runs before Gray could get his hundred. Gray, dropped on 21, still wrapped up the Man of the Match award, having taken four catches behind the stumps earlier.

Cricket Web Green innings 215-7 (50 overs)
DY Dubb-Lynch 50* (73), R Malone 48 (43), BS Read 35 (54)
ZJ Ritchie 3-23 (10)

JR Gray 95* (126), GKK Dobson 58* (55), SA Bennett 37 (47)
PG Gundry 1-42 (8)

Cricket Web Blue v Cricket Web Colts
PDV Dome

Scorecard
Ball by Ball

As in the first-class arena, the race to the one-day final was kept alive as Cricket Web Blue slumped to another defeat at a crucial stage of the season. Jennifer Law continued her clutch form and hit 109 to power the Colts to 279-4, and they defended the total with ease with a rare spirited bowling performance.

Law and Kerr set up the big total for the Colts with a partnership of 279, and none of the Blue bowlers looked potent after they chose to field. The response with the bat was even more disappointing. Almost everyone showed some promise at the crease, but aside from Pete Young (55), no one got past 34. Thad Bochat was excellent, leading the bowling attack with 2-31 in his 9 over. And Greg Thomas was the next best of the bowlers, with pace and surprisingly well-directed aggression, and 2 wickets to show for it. The Blues were all out for 209, well short of the target.

Cricket Web Colts innings 279-4 (50 overs)
JA Law 109 (130), WA Kerr 71 (100), MW Wilson 34 (32)
RG Dunn 2-54 (10)

Cricket Web Blue innings 209 (43.4 overs)
PE Young 55 (69), S Young 34 (50), T Mamesh 31 (28)
T Bochat 2-31 (9), GM Thomas 2-47 (10)

Cricket Web Colts won by 70 runs.
Men of the Match: JA Law (Colts)

Masters XI v Cricket Web Black
Casston Reserve

Scorecard
Ball by Ball

Cricket Web Black rebounded from their first-class defeat with a comfortable victory over the Masters XI, battling back from a tricky position to win by 36 runs.

Tyron Henderson bowled with fire in his belly early on, nipping out both openers for single figures and reducing the Blacks to 11-2. But as they have so often this season, Alex Blackman (78) and Gerard Armstrong (66) rose to the occasion and laid the foundation for a challenging score. Armstrong was first out, miscuing a pull shot to the outfield and caught off Warne, leaving Blackman to push on with the support of the youth contingent of the team. Reece Congdon was again exceptional, and he and Zac Gelman were prominent players in the ascendance to 248-6. Their partnership lasted 52 balls and was worth 66 runs. Lance Klusener picked up his third wicket, getting Gelman to slog a slower ball to the deep in the 50th over, and Congdon was unbeaten on 39, maintaining his average of infinity.

CW Black then struck quickly with the ball and the wicket of Wavell Hinds (1) in the second over. Hamish Marshall joined Lance Klusener and the two took on Kexing Su, the wickettaker, with some aggressive shots. Ultimately Klusener was out to Heath Davis, driving uppishly at the young fast bowler and caught in the covers, and after Lara was gone for 17, the innings went into freefall. Topscorer Hamish Marshall (63) was a second wicket of Dave Richards', top edging a sweep, and Richards added a third with Inzamam-ul-Haq lbw for 6. Congdon wrapped his Man of the Match award with his part-time legspin and two wickets, including the trump Damien Martyn. The Masters found spirit in their tail, but surrendered for 212.

Cricket Web Black innings 248-6 (50 overs)
AJ Blackman 77 (118), GAJ Armstrong 66 (77), RP Congdon 39* (31)
L Klusener 3-60 (10), T Henderson 2-47 (9)

Masters XI innings 212 (46.4 overs)
HJH Marshall 63 (84), SK Warne 26 (29), L Klusener 25 (33)
DP Richards 3-37 (10), NL Patrick 2-35 (10), RP Congdon 2-36 (9)

Cricket Web Black won by 36 runs.
Man of the Match: RP Congdon (Black)

Ah well. When it happens it happens. Cant do much about it.

Good to know Black have enough quality to bring both trophies home and I dont think Ill be overly missed.

Just like the weekend. Supporting role with the bat! Pity this wasn't a 133 run partnership to carry us to an outright win.

Ah well.

Really should've done better.

Good win there, Jamie again making the runs whilst it was good to see Ritchie step up with the ball.

All I can say is atleast green lost.

Completely embarassing to lose to the Colts in the OD format. Worst team in OD history.
