I thought the reason for this series is to find lost revenue, but by the looks of it, NZ cricket board doesn't seem to have money problems.
I read in the Herald that they were facing 3m-3.5m$ if this didn't work out.

I just can't wait for these. Let's hope for good pitches.

I still can't work out what's happening with the Tsunami - are there some funds from these 3 games being put towards it?

Apparently.
Cheerz man. Government in turn means us. $20 oer run scored.
Maybe it's not as good as the 3 Mobile (or mobile 3, whatever) 1000$ per run, or Toyota's $50,000 per six, but it's pretty damn good!

That's 3 matches = 1200 runs if the pitches are reasonable, that's 24000$, plus boundaries, let's say 75, which is rather small, that's another 75K, and, assuming the likes of Astle and Cairns fire, 20 sixes - there's another 100K, so that adds up to nearly 200,000$ on runs & etc alone. Sounds good, and there could be alot more.

It's amazing they're still willing to donate to the tsunami fund. CHEERS FOR THE NZ CRICKET BOAD.

Most of the players wouldn't have come if it was just to reimburse NZ cricket. Warne was interviewed on the radio the other day and said he asked where the money was going before he came.

Hi

New Zealand should change batting line up a bit. Seeing as they have a great performing tail end right now they could try putting some of the batsmen up a bit just for these world xi games. Maybe Oram, Marshall and Mcullum should be brought up.

Oram's vacancy could well mean that Wilson makes the starting 11 on Saturday.

Fleming
Astle
Sinclair
Styris
Marshall
Cairns
McCullum
Vettori
Wilson
Mills
Tuffey

There's no point IMO playing McMillan with sufficient batting going all the way to #7 already. Vettori, Wilson & Mills can all hit runs if required.

yeah i'd go for that XI aswell but except the batting order to be toyed with, haha to think that people were saying they didn't think mcmillan would ever be back in the NZ side

have to say that I'm a bit disappointed by Macca's recall to the BC's...........

not that he hasn't been playing well recently in the Shield or anything (and taking wickets as well), just that I'd have thought this to be a last opportunity to look for another batsman for the Test squad to be blooded at Int level against decent opposition without too much pressure so far as the match / series goes...............

I guess this means we will not see too many changes to the Test squad for AUS, with Macca a chance to be back in the squad already.............

canning and adams are hardly allrounders, IMO mcmillan is more of an allrounder than both of them

a futher slap in the face to canning and adams, replacing a allrounder with a batter
With the number of all-rounders / bits and pieces players, a specialist is a good idea.

Canning & Adams can moan all they like, but if you look at the stats this season..they're doing nothing more special than Wilson has to push their case for NZ selection.

Canning said he was shocked at not being selected, when Wilson was. I dont think he has had great / exceptional scores at local level ATM
