that was always going to happen.

Honestly, I'll be quite satisfied if we get to 400. The openers made 8 all together and we're only playing 5 specialist batsmen. And, well, it's NZ.

Can't wait to see how Boult plays tbh, 'Flynny is an ND legend...must...help him....with maiden ton'.

34 balls and only two attempts to get that 30th six and go second in the team from Timmeh, clearly weighed on his mind the whole innings.

400 would be half-satisfying.

On this wicket best case we're going to get 3 wickets with the new ball, then it will be long hard slog to have SL 5 down when the second new ball arrives, and we need to knock the rest over with that. So we'd be doing well to get SL for 320-350.

I do agree with McMillan (yarg) re Jayawardene's captaincy this session. It's absurd offering up easy 1's to cover point and mid off when the tail-enders are facing.

Sri Lanka's fielding has been woeful. Not just that drop, but using boots to stop the ball, meh returns to the keeper, no dives...

If you don't come off the field with grass stains you weren't fielding hard enough. /skool criket

Nicely played Flynn - well controlled innings.

We have to be concerned with how our bowlers are going to go on this pitch though, considering how easy even Bracewell, Southee and Patel were finding it.

Lovely shot for the 400.

Feel sorry for Astle. It would be bad enough having to bowl against this lot without having to do it on a complete road as well.
