***Official New Zealand in India Nov-Dec 2021 Thread***

Moss

International Vice-Captain
Taylor is usually good for one innings on 80-odd on overseas tours, hope that continues.

This should be his last test in India so would be cool if he signs off in style. Onus on him to carry that middle order now.

Tom Latham is actually a better captain than Williamson based on what I've seen. Excellent with his bowling changes.
Reminds me of Mark Taylor - seems to have a good intuition for when to make a change and doesn't let things drift (hopefully I haven't jinxed him).

Don't mind Mitchell but at no. 3 and bowling not so sure. Want him to go well though

We're going with 3 spinners, not so sure about that. The pitch doesn't look that bad for batting.

Losing the toss sucks but with the slightly damp conditions and this first over there's a chance of early wickets.

Somerville is going to have to bowl a lot better - couldn't really see what type of dismissal he was even aiming for vs the right hander last match. Ajaz needs to be better too.

Gill always up for a boundary.
Outfield still looks patchy af after the rain.

Second boundary a bit more risk.

I’m going to be a heretic and say I don’t mind the Somerville selection. He didn’t do well in the first test, but he is a class bowler and I am sure the rust is shaking out. I am also kinda glad we don’t have Wagner’s giant boots smashing into the rough outside off-stump in his follow through. Love the guy to pieces though.
