Why is Franklin given a go if they need an all rounder who doesn't bowl much? Isn't Oram a better option than him?
1. Franklin is a much better batsman than Oram these days.
2. Oram probably couldn't get through the 8-10 overs a day that Franklin is expected to bowl without getting injured.
3. Oram would still get injured a fair bit just fielding/batting even if he didn't bowl at all.
4. For reasons #2 and #3, Oram retired from Tests and can't be picked anyway.

So in a lot of ways it's like asking why India don't pick Srinath instead of Yadav.

Less controversial than Kohli's yesterday. For that one, if I were the third umpire, I might have ruled in the batsman's favor.

In your defence, you do pretty much need to learn to use your feet to play spin if you want to be successful in India, especially on turning wickets. There should be a 'I suck at playing spin' exception to that rule though...but in that case, you're going to be fodder anyway.
Pretty much. Using your feet doesn't mean mad premeditated charges are go.

About this test match - more of the same. The pitches in India are prepared to optimally help its spinners. The problem is: when the desi 'heroes' travel abroad,
they fail utterly because the pitches are no longer made for them. As long as this stupid policy continues, India will continue to fail in all tours.

Surely India will enforce the follow-on - just open the bowling with Ashwin and don't change until we're all out. No point batting again.

Yeah alright alright. Forgot about that little detail. You don't have to be a **** about it.:p

Enough of this.
