Hellishly frustrating that Latham continues to fail to capitalise on starts. A ratio of 7 tons and 24 halfies (25 if it hasn't been updated) at FC level is atrocious, even for a young(ish) bloke.

From what I'm hearing, it sounds like Seifert might have himself some form of NZC contract, for the sake of them being able to control his winter schedule. Expect him on the winter A tours, I suppose.

Pretty harsh on Pete Bocock, who appeared to be in the form of his life in club cricket but couldn't supplant Seifert in the Plunket. The ton certainly puts a dent in Bocock's FC aspirations for a while.

Bocock isn't a serious threat to Seifert tbf. Older, less talented and doesn't have the same work ethic.

24-25 year old Hamilton keeper bat. Was stuck behind the likes of Latham and Cachopa back in his under 19 days. Literally pissed away his chance of being a pro cricketer in his younger days, a common Hamilton cricket thing tbf.

Ole Howsie seems to have his finger on the pulse of ND Cricket.

Any more young seamers or top order bats pushing through??

Guptill-Bunce out for 93, his highest FC score.

Made his first FC fifty last year, 88 v Otago.

Since then FC scores of 91,4,37,5,21,4,92,93, has improved his highest FC score three times ... but still no century.

tbf Bocock made a big unbeaten 200 the other week in club cricket while Seifert made a 15-ball 0 on the adjacent deck, and is better with the gloves than Seifert (may be an age/experience thing, but Seifert is very much a batsman-keeper atm). Very determined to make runs, by the sounds of things, and let's not forget that Seifert had done literally nothing up until the century; his place was far from beyond reproach (if not for the NZC equivalent of PONI instructions)

When I first saw the name Bocock I thought of Blair Pocock. Maybe one could play as a specialist batsman as Watling sometimes would when McGlashan was also in the team. ND seem to produce a lot of good keepers. I remember at one stage the FC scene included Robbie Hart, Martyn Sigley, Martin Croy and Gareth Hopkins.

I'm sure there's a new CW meme name in that tale for Bocock, the way he'd prove to blow his chance to make it in domestic cricket. Along with Blocky's Joe Walker, no doubt, who's also trying to make amends with a trial game eightfer up at Cobham Oval this week.

Bocock somehow had a really tall blonde Scottish babe for a girlfriend, iirc. At least he had something to show for those distracted years.

Can Otago stop these cute 24(17) white ball hangover knocks and dismissals to Alecz Day?

Don't ever diminish my Paddy Power balance like this, or I'll fill the thread with revenge videos.
