There's better keepers then wade in the pool, Glenn phillips is a much better buy then wade or seirfet for KKR both short and long term. Dc's buying was great, top 4 o 1.Shaw 2.Warner 3.Marsh 4.Pant sounds DANGEROUS, that and a solid bowling lineup, there middle/lower order is a bit barren between 5-7, but they've also got batdeep already and 12 slots left. Hopefully they can win a title this year.
Phillips didn't do much in WT20 & basically was struggling last IPl vs spin. Wade is a left hander & can open or act as a finisher like in WT20. Seems clutch as well. Plays spin quite well. I think he should be ahead of Phillips.
DC needs one solid Indian batsman & one more overseas pacer to seal the deal.
Sarfaraz is a lower middle order bat that does well at domestic level. He ain't too bad for a no 5 for DC.

Whatever it takes!!!
How it usually works is that DC and RCB always assemble great squads in auctions, but RCB will mess up under pressure and DC will galaxy brain and rock a smooth sailing somewhere. Punjab, whatever they are called, and Hyderabad will always walk in with the biggest briefcases and end up somehow with same holes in their side every year. Kolkata will go all in on one or two strategies and when that game plan is disrupted, they wont have a plan B. Royals went from moneyballs to moneybags in terms of auction strategy but somehow will again end up lacking depth in either balance or quality. MI will pick players to suit their already formulated gameplan and would have identified about at least 10 young Indian talents (just make it 1 for every 5 of their scouts) but they may get too arrogant and it will cause their downfall every other season. CSK will continue to bank on experience and keep buying back their own players with the odd addition, but they are one side who will adjust their gameplan based on their strengths and weaknesses for that season. And that is why they continue to be the best side in the IPL, 2020 notwithstanding.

Interesting to see LSG and SRH closest to locking down their first XI. RCB and RR and PBKS not far behind. CSK got their top 8 sorted but will still need a floater allrounder to factor in for MSD being old. Gujarat and KKR still need their first XI keepers. CSK need their first XI seamers. And Gujarat also need their first XI middle order. Interesting times ahead. Expect Livingstone to go to GT. But Punjab and MI have enough money to spoil their plans.

Khaleel the Zaleel to DC.. Another good pick. A 140k+ left armer.
Sakariya is a bad buy from DC. Guy is mediocre trundler.

I'm really interested in this final phase of the auction. Will franchises invest in youth or look for good performers at bargain prices to round out their sides?

RR haven't been very active today. Worried about the depth of their final squad. Was expecting them to pick up several local players today but maybe they've already got youngsters lined up to sign after the auction?

MI broke the bank for Archer, they really banking on a strong 2023/24 from him.

Delhi have bough smart. Very strong looking squad. The two new franchises have done well too.

So many average trundlers are being picked in squads as fillers now. Kuldeep Sen went unsold is making me quite sad now.
India can successfully host another IPl with 11 trundlers per side.

Actually Khaleel is decent, I was just kidding. But I do rate Nattu, Sakariya and Arshdeep higher than him if you are just talking about T20s.
Yeah ofc Nattu is a proper T20 specialist... Sakariya Nah.. Khaleel is a full prone India squad member. Asia Cup NZ tour Guy has been on high profile series at a younger age than Sakariya. Ian Bishop rates him very highly. OTOH more match winning spells than Sakariya till date in IPl

2020 U19 WC star Sushant Mishra unsold. Another 140kph bowler. So many bad buys among chillers.
Good to see CSK buying Hangargekar.. Worrying signs for Dhoni's fingers lol.. He is used to Mohit Sharmas & Deepak Chahars lol
