Yes, I am watching it. This is what makes the correpsonding ministry so obsolete. They're not even showing the full stats, and there is a very static outline score on the top right corner. Quite bad.

Intersting to see that kaif did not think SS Paul good enough to open the bowling and brought him on second change

Tough call- you can only have two new-ball bowlers. The pair of RPS and G'deep were going for more than a few runs, so Powar was brought on, then Paul was given the ball a lot later.

I very much Asim Kamal gets his first test ton in this series, thought he looked a very sound player in oz, deserves to score big.

Gagandeep bowled stump-to-stump and got some movement, even one ball right under the bat with a leg-before appeal turned down. Good stuff, but no bouncers, and on this pitch (no assistance to anybody, very low bounce), he had a hard time.

The number of wides bowled by RP Singh is disturbing. He won't get too many bowling so wide. Parthiv Patel got more work, parrying a few and struggling with low bounce. Paul bowled well, to a line and length. Venugopal is bowling utter rubbish on both sides of the wicket and a straight one got Inzamam out leg-before.

Asim Kamal is trying to play a very steady, defensive innings.

BPXI is a bowler short. Ramesh Powar is injured and off the field. SS Paul isn't very mobile, and a very lacklustre effort saw one ball go to the boundary. Usually a good fielder for a seam bowler, this was sub-par. A fielding coach may be needed for the national side.

Asim Kamal is the only one from the top six still left, with the hard-hitting Abdul Razzaq giving him company.

Paul has been bowling all over the pitch in the final stages and had slipped on the field earlier. He's either tired (strange for someone termed as a workhorse) or he's carrying an injury.

EDIT- Count in Gagandeep as one of the better fielders among the seam/swing bowlers. His direct-hit ran out opener Salman Butt. RP Singh threw one straight, but it missed the stumps and nobody backed up.

For corn sakes, please DON'T copy and paste my quotes on ICF! They may be having a good laugh reading that.

Ramesh Powar had to leave the field because of that hard strike that came on his hand as a straight drive by one opener. Hopefully it's not something serious.

The BPXI management may have made a mistake by not playing a fifth bowler. This pitch is well in favour of the batsmen and they're already a bowler down, but so are the Pakistanis.

What a performance by Pakistani side against second strings, if this is how Pakistani batsmen are going to perform against the Indian test team then the matches would end up in three days.

Honestly this Pakistani side looks very weak to me, their batting looked awful to me now we have to see how are their bowlers going to perform.Considering they are playing just three specialist bowlers( two of which happen to be legendary Rana and loose cannon Sami) i really don't expect much from them.

BTW Gagandeep singh was very impressive.

iv got a feeling pakistan is gonna regret not playing malik in the tests

Who should he place in the current test team? Asim is clearly the batsman on form and can't be omitted from the lineup. I guess he can come in place of Younis khan (the vice captain) but Younis did well in Australia and i consider Younis a better batsman than Malik.

Had Malik been allowed to bowl, then he should have been in the team, but now that he isn't allowed to bowl, he should't even have been selected for the 16 man squad.

1st Game, Jet Lag  , pitch.

India lost their tour game too, (not insisting that Pak will loose this), also BP XI still has to bat

Jet Lag??? Considering the journey was such a looooooooooooong one it was have been terrible.

I believe it was another carefree batting display by Pak batsman. They have the capability to perform better but they just don't apply themself most of the time.

Great to see Yuvraj and Balaji justifying their selection in the 1st test squad.
Everyone selected for the first test who is playing in this match has impressed to an extent, at least based on the statistics:
Gautam Gambhir: 52 (81) & 6 (11)
Virender Sehwag: 79 (57) & 16 (24)
VVS Laxman: 55 (91) & 59 (136)
Yuvraj Singh: 110 (128) & 60* (38)
Dinesh Karthik: 59 (124) & 12 (21), 3 catches, 1 stumping
Harbhajan Singh: 52-172-6, 3.3 rpo, 29 ave
Lakshmipathy Balaji: 34.2-150-8, 4.4 rpo, 19 ave
Ashish Nehra: 37.5-188-5, 5.0 rpo, 38 ave

So for the first test lineup:
G. Gambhir
V. Sehwag
R. Dravid
S. Tendulkar
V. Laxman/Y. Singh
S. Ganguly
D. Karthik
I. Pathan
A. Kumble
H. Singh/ L. Balaji
Z. Khan

what do you think?
