Looks like Ashwin is mentally fragile, can't handle the pressure in 2nd innings of having to bowl his team to a win despite having significantly favourable condition.

Spinners take time to get into a rhythm. Will begin to write him off if he doesn't improve after another 10 overs.

Yeah but if anything this just explains why people (like Dharmasena) who are clearly terrible at the things fans actually care about (like getting on-field decisions right) manage to ascend to the top of the field. This isn't a system that's working.
Eh the system exists because teams care more about the administrative details and match management, especially in the era of DRS. Remember the ICC doesn't cater to fans - it caters to the boards, who themselves care about a whole host of other stuff outside of correct LBW decisions.

Is Ashwin bowling mediocrely? I'm not watching now, but comments here suggest that.

He didn't bowl any more rhythmically in the first innings ten overs in compared to the start of his spell.

Still shaking my head at Finch.

Have neutral commentators always been a thing?

Anderson and Broad have been mentioned too often this test imo.

Skull is the only commentator who actually watches a decent amount of cricket.
Well 9 had either Greig or Nicholas (and for a period both) on the team throughout their history, so it’s not completely without precedence. And let’s not forget Michael Holding.

Having both Vaughan and Guha is a little strange though.

Ponting has always been a little racist toward Indians. Can take the boy out of tassie but can't take the tassie out of the boy
