Don't know why India keep sending Hardik in ahead of Dhoni before 35-40 overs. If it's the last 10 overs, Hardik has to be promoted, otherwise, it just makes no sense. Hardik usually gets out after a quick 20-30 and then Dhoni comes in and slows the innings down just when we need the acceleration.

It's because of that one time they put him at 4 against Australia and he responded with 70 odd

-Jadhav is a hack
-Rahane is too inconsistent and unreliable.
-Pandya is a fool and not good enough either. Neither a top 6 batsman nor a bowler who can give you 10 overs. He gets whacked around with ease. On this tour he has had 8 innings now.. and has only performed Once with the bat and once with the ball, thats it!

-Plus Dhoni's batting has regressed massively.

Put all that together and its a pretty mediocre lineup on the whole. And this game is another illustration of the huge middle order weakness India has.

Nah, he was the ultimate minnow basher. In reality the guy was garbage.

Nope thats not right. He had some decent spells again better teams(remember Hatrick again Pak). That yorker to Gilly too was special.

Somewhere he was convinced by someone that he is genuine all rounder and since then his downfall started.

Kohli's finally looking tired and he's still running those quick singles. What a machine.

If India hadn't lost so many wickets, Kohli right now would be whacking it or at least trying to do... but given the current situation, he is having to play slightly watchfully and looking to maximise easy runs..

Kohli is a monster, the way he pre-empted Rabada's short ball followed by the fuller one in those last 2 balls just shows how ahead he is of all the bowlers.

It seems like only yesterday SA teams were filled with WP boys and they would perform for the Newlands faithful.

Come on JP. Let's go ! :D

Kohli has definitely breached the 900 icc ratings barrier after that innings, (may even go well past it,) so after the series it'll be reflected in his 'career best rating' figure, even though his rating by the end of the series may come back down below 900 if he doesn't perform in the coming games, which doesn't matter as much.

Since icc don't show updates after each match we may not get to see the 900+ figure at the end of the series but it will definitely show up in his career-best ratings column at the end of the series with Today's date on it.

900+ v South Africa, 07/02/2018

Only 11 other batsman have attained it, Tendulkar's best was 887. Of course ratings are not without their flaws but its good that finally an Indian player has gone past 900. This is not just an assumption, its 99% certain that after this game, he is beyond 900, and if India win, then its 100% guaranteed.

He was on 876 prior to series. And since then
-Match winning hundred in the 1st game vs No.1 team.
-Unbeaten innings in the 2nd game
-Unbeaten 160 potentially match winning innings in the 3rd game, scoring more than half of India's runs.

Could even go 910+ points depending on what kind of score South Africa put on.. and how other batsman fare on the wicket. Let's see.
