**Official** English Football Season 2025/26

Wolves maybe big time relegation candidates, but City were impressive. Reijnders looks a great signing.
Yeah he's a weapon, been the 2nd best midfielder in Serie A for a few seasons. He's what they've been looking for since Gundo left for Barca and one of the reasons I tipped them to win the league.

Once he has Rodri next to him you'll see a whole different side to his game as an 8.

Where’s that Richarlison been for the last 2 years? Cracking finish from him and seemed to be involved in a fair bit outside of the goal too.

And a decent win for Colchester - though Flibberty will probably see things differently.

Are they your side? I don't suppose you're old enough to remember the 3-2 win against the great Leeds side in 1971?

In our first home league game of the season, we absolutely battered QPR in the first half, could have been 3-4, young Aussie Nestory Irankunda looks a very exciting signing. They did score from out of nowhere to make it 2-1, then the second half was more nervy, and our star midfielder Imran Louza then got a straight red late on, so definitely mixed emotions even though we picked up our first win of the season!

They’re my other side. Dad’s family are from Tottenham, but I’m from Essex. Only two teams in the football league from Essex in my lifetime (excluding West Ham and a brief foray for Dagenham and Redbridge) so I’ve followed Colchester for a long time.

However, 1971 is before my time. Colchester were tussling with Wycombe in the Vauxhall Conference when I started following them. So, that’s the early 90s and I’d have been old enough to make my own calls about who to support. Dad was happy enough to support local - him and his brother played locally to decent levels and my uncle managed a few Essex non-league teams over the 70s and 80s.

A good friend of mine is a Leeds supporter though and it’s always good to put the boot in and remind her of that game. Her husband, a Middlesbrough fan, has no sympathy. In fact, no one I’ve met has much sympathy for Leeds!

We are going down faster than Bonnie Blues knickers so beating up means nothing. 😂

Arsenal have won that game obviously, but I thought United were actually decent. Stuff to build on in any case

I questioned Casemiro starting but Ugarte showed why. Totally unsuited to the speed of the league. A goal from a keeper error was pretty predictable also.

Utd certainly an improvement on what's come before, but ultimately they had the best part of the entire match after going behind to do something, and didn't.

That was a stunningly bad cameo from Ugarte tbf.

Arsenal weren't great, but the difference was they have a gun keeper while Bayinder is a genuine turnip.

Also please stop starting Dalot .

It wasn’t terrible, but it’s also exactly how Arsenal beat teams, score from a set piece and be hard to break down. It’s not a game where it’s any kind of achievement to have more of the play.

On first impression I don’t think the Arsenal attack has improved enough to take the next step, they’ll draw too many games again. Gyokeres looked kinda bad.

Well if winning ugly counts for anything the title's ours.

Never going to pooh-pooh a win at Old Tartford though. Still a good bellwether of how a season is likely to play out, ManUre's current reduced circumstances notwithstanding.
