Arsenal are missing a striker like kane or haaland
Barcelona are playing without a striker
PSG are playing without a striker
Inter are playing without a striker

Hey, even our Liverpool play without a striker.

I think Arsenal were pretty close for a while there with Moreno but then he was forced back into centre midfield. It's up to the manager to find a system that works without needing a focal point up top.

Braca has lewandowski and even we have neunez who is inconsistent. But yes they do need consistent goal scorers

Arsenal have Jesus and Havertz. Both strikers currently about as useful as the two guys you named.

If you want to talk about goal scorers that's a different conversation - we have a bloke named Mo Salah.

I'm not sure that 1-2 or 1-1 count as 'rinsed' even if Man Utd had a red card there. 3-0 at home in European semi-final is a pretty bad outcome, aye.

Anyway, good on Tottenham to leave Bodo with a decent opportunity to turn that over in the 2nd leg. It could be like the League Cup semi-final second leg pretty easily.

Agree - should mean automatic demotion from all competitions effective immediately

Not as bad as handing a trophy to a team who couldn't win one for 70 years!!

Anyway, it's hilarious that one of these two are likely to be playing in the Champions League next year. I honestly don't see Bodo turning Spurs around. That Final is going to be a thing of beauty, I really don't care who wins, I'll just be there for the Lols.

*Or until the final whistle on 21st May, whichever is sooner.

Bayern securing the title means I'll have to remove Kane from the best English players never to win a trophy XI that we were discussing a couple of years ago. From memory:
Ron Springett
Jimmy Armfield, Neil Franklin, ?????, Derek Statham
?????, Johnny Haynes, Tony Currie
Matt Le Tissier, Frank Worthington, Tom Finney

The second central defender was a problem, to the extent that I even suggested Terry Fenwick from the 1986 World Cup at one stage. There must be someone better, surely.

EDIT
Rice removed following brumby's kind update.

Maybe Mark Noble for midfield?

Ultimate hard-luck story, pretty much his whole career with the Happy Hammers and retired the season before they finally won something.

Failing that Rob Lee?

Noble was completely useless so I’m not sure this was a coincidence. His only notable skills were league-average penalty taking and ‘fronting up’ after losses.

England haven’t really been short of decent centre backs. I’d suggest Tarkowski, but I might just rate him much higher than most. I feel like every era has a couple of 8/10 English CBs at mid table sides.

You could also just put Guehi in, but I doubt he’ll stay trophyless for his whole career.

My initial thought was Matthew Upson, but turns out he made enough substitute appearances for Arsenal in 2002 to get a Premier League medal.
