Not sure if quite true at that stage tbf

Utd werebeyond the really hateable stage by then and were legit good, whereas it was about the peak of Terry's vileness, i think...

Nah. It was a couple of years later when Terry hate became a real thing after the Wayne Bridge stuff, and United remained the most hated club the whole time Ferguson was at the helm

I don’t know. You might be but it’s hard for people to get truly annoyed about United because you’re not much cop are you
Yeah the days of true utd hate are long gone imo. Beating /playing against them just isn't such a big deal, so it's hard to get worked up enough to feel hatred.

Probably how a lot of people feel about Arsenal these days as well tbh

Still hate United as much as ever tbh. They've been **** for six years but have actually been really lucky in that time somehow and their massive fanbase still pipes up whenever they have a decent couple of months or sign someone in the summer who will turn out to be mediocre. It also bugs me that despite gross incompetence they're basically incapable of truly failing. They're still stupid rich and are a couple of good hires away from being a really attractive destination for top players again. I'd back them to win a league title again before Spurs, Arsenal, maybe Chelsea, and certainly anyone outside the top six.

Dawned on me that Aubameyang almost definitely put in the best performance by an Arsenal striker since van Persie left tonight. If only we had a player like that from 2013 to 2017

Is this their Twitter fanbase? All the Man U fans I know have been as miserable as Evertonians since Whisky Breath stepped down.

I would have said we’re more objectively hateable now. We play terrible football, are deeply commercialised in the most embarrassing ways, dominate the media and I don’t remember much bollocks talked about The Manchester United Way when we were good.

OTOH we had much better hate figures for other clubs back then. Now we mostly just have players our own fans hate.

Meh, people hate you when you win and their teams don't. People become more indifferent the less you win.
Mostly yeah but City are maybe the least hated team in the top 6. It sort of feels like there’s not enough of an identity there to hate properly.

It’s a mix of how good you are, what type of football you play, what your fans are like and how pretentious the club is.

I love how Mourinho himself has become a Specialist in Failure nowadays after his earlier barbs about Wenger. And with Mourinho, it's not just failure, but also misery and divisiveness for the entire fanbase.

Karma is a bitch, he deserves all of it.
