If Mick Vaughan were a CW member we'd have banned him by now.

Maybe several times. After all, Burgey decided to make exactly the same post.

We'd have probably called him a troll or a multi and driven him off by now.

Problem with him is obviously the injuries. He is meant to be the 90mph bowler but for over half his tests he has struggled to get much above 82mph. This version of him is an asset and should play all the time he is available as he is so dangerous. We all know he won't manage much more than a 30 test career though sadly.
Having the right professional sports fysiologic specialists can make a hell of a difference. I have no clue where Mark Wood is in this. Who knows?

The selectors deserve some credit for this win. Sticking with Sibley after he looked out of his depth in NZ, a successful punt on Crawley, looking beyond Denly's average to what his occupation of the crease actually gives this side, taking something of a punt on Wood, and recognising that Bess was a better bet than Parkinson after all. Buttler was probably the only duff call.
Once upon a time Jos Buttler was selected for his batting. In this series, he has kept all matches, not? So let's judge him that way. If either Bairstow or Foakes is a better glovesman, Jos should go.

Seems an odd time to do it.

YJB clearly has a much higher ceiling as a batsman, but Denly's added a solidity to the #3 slot that we haven't really had since Trott.

He's not made any really big scores, but he has hung around and meant our two best batters at four and five have had more of a platform to build on.

Plus, of course, the spinners did most of the heavy lifting for us in SL last time and, with Moeen still agnostic about touring, Leach's Crohn's an ongoing concern and Rashid unlikely to be called back up into the red ball squad, Denly's prep-school leggies could get quite an outing.

You can't just keep a veteran of 70 tests out of a squad. It just doesn't make sense.

Congratulations Jonny Bairstow.

The context of his original statement is that he's referring to the time Lehmann and Warner complained about abuse isn't it?

Regardless agree that he's an idiot who should be ignored.
I actually don't mind Vaughan despite his attempts at being outrageous. But he is now complaining about crowd abuse while apparently previously endorsing it by default just because it was directed at Australians. Its not an exception that can explain the double standard. Especially from someone, I'd assume, who would excuse the barmy army's trash as a bit of banter or a lark.

Archer ruled out of the Twenty20 series and possibly a doubt for Sri Lanka. He has returned home to fully recover from the elbow injury apparently

I do hope that he is not even considered for SL... let him get fully fit ready for the English summer.

Anyone have any idea why Banton is in the ODI squad and not the t20 squad?

Did they even watch the BBL
1) They named the squads before the Big Bash started.
2) With the World T20 happening this year (and another next year, ugh) the focus is on T20 rather than ODI cricket, and thus the T20 squad is more or less full strength, whilst they've rested players for the ODI series.

Banton will get in the T20 team in time, although maybe not for this years comp. England lots of options at top of order.

What are England's options besides banton at the top of the order? Bairstow Roy being first choice, then hales or malan?

Bairstow, Roy, Buttler, Malan are the top order bats in the current t20 squad. (Ali and Denly are in the squad too, although they won't be batting in the top 3.)
