and that is why Kane shouldn't be playing T20. JMO though. That said this is a very slow start from these two. Confidence can't be high for Williamson.
Yeah I didn't like it either, even before Williamson got out. England have two spinners who it won't be dead easy to score from in the middle overs, and we know our lower order batting is unreliable, so needed more run rate up the front of the innings.I don't like this plan of completely abandoning intent if Munro goes early. We don't have the players to accelerate later.
Well NZ do have a garbage middle and lower order for ODIs. They are a top heavy team.Don't understand the tactics here. No attempt to put pressure on the bowlers. No trust in the lower order unless they get < 10 overs to bat?
Nah. He's had a bad season, but was playing brilliantly as recently as the Champions Trophy middle of last year.Don't know why anybody is surprised about Kane. Dude has been awful in limited overs cricket for a long time now.

Averages mean **** all as they encompass a career.latham is a bit of a slow track bully so if he can't score here...

Yeah Taylor isn't the same player he once was and he doesn't have the ability to accelerate. Latham is a tapper who barely ever goes for shots and De Grandhomme is one of the most inconsistent players in all of cricket.
NZ success is completely predicated on their top order.
