***Official*** England in India

Here is somf of what I said in the last Test as well:

1) Time for Pathan and Bhajji to shape up or ship out. Enough ! If we need Pathan for his batting let's bring in Kaif.

2) Sick and tired of Greg and Dravid blaming every screw-up as 'preparation for the future' - is the Indian public so gullible (from the sycophantic posts on this Board where every crtique is taken personally - Yes)

3) If Tendulkar doesn't fire UNDER PRESSURE he should go.

4) Do you have any idea how much money these guys make. - they should perform or be sacked.

5) Dravid will never be as good a captain as Ganguly - even though it was time for Ganguly to go. Dravid is a 'manager', not a 'leader'.

6) Going in with 3 pacers is NOT a good idea in India - someone needs to wake up Chappel and let him know he is not in Australia

7) If England keep batting as well as they did they will win this Test Match

8) They should export Srinath to a far away country

    ..dude this is only the first day of the test match and it's not like England have already scored 500 runs or something. I dont think Dravid made a ponting like mistake here, from what I hear, there was lot of movement in the early morning and if he had put england to bat, it could have backfired as well considering they have Hoggard and Anderson. Not to forget that our opening bowlers especially Pathan bowled crap, we dropped catches..it was one of our worst days in this series and England are only 272/3, so no I am not worried at all.

But with Shah's condition which is unlikely to be 100% then it could be five-down very fast with Go-Jo at 7 and rabbits from there on in.
If its cramp of the hand, I don't see how 20 hours rest won't cure it.

I also think Bell should be moving down the pecking order in terms of selection, Collingwood must surely be ahead of him and possibly Cook as well.
Bell is the highest runscorer this winter yet still seems to be the most in threat...

That said, Bell looks pathetic, nice technique and all, but how long will it be before he learns to stay in longer than 10 overs?

I don't think i've ever seen him dismissed by a good delivery.
Didn't Bell have to adapt at short notice and bat for over 90 minutes in the role today?

As for good deliveries getting him, watch the Ashes.

i am confident Bell will become a test player. The critisim Geoff Boycott was giving him this morning was certainly scathing but he had a good tour of Pakistan and although he does have a problem with edging the ball early on i think he will get lots of runs in the summer if he plays.

Past 5 matches (versus Pakistan and England) for Harbhajan Singh ... 3 wickets @ 221; :@
Well, he has been bowling decently in the current series. Has been a little unlucky, I think.

How does it being a Test match reduce the gulf in quality?
Collingwood's specialist position at backward point just isn't as important in test matches. Bell's value as a close catcher is increased massively though. (not that he's bad in the covers himself).

I fail to see how opening affected the dismal shot he played to get out.

The ashes? Proves my point.

india need to take quick wickets on the second day or this test match could slip away real fast.....why did dravid have to insert the opposition in the one time he won the toss?:@

Being a bit too harsh on Bell i feel. Obviously he hasn't batted that well in India but he did play well in Pakistan probably England's best batsman in the test series. Collingwood, Cook & Shah now with their performances will be putting pressure on him, but not sure if its enough to drop him as yet.
Yesterday, you were all for dropping Strauss.

Yeah he's making the ball spin, but we have so many others waiting in the wings that can do that. We're not seeing much variation or penetration from Bhajji right now ... if he doesn't pick up 5 wickets in this match, he should give his West Indies air ticket to Ramesh Powar or Piyush Chawla.

I am sorry that living in bad weather has put you in a perpetual sour mood. My apoligies.
Not in a sour mood - surely you are of sufficient intelligence to realise that when a 'winky winky' emoticon is used, the message is not to be taken seriously and....

OH MY GOD!!!!!!!!

He's mis-spelled apologies.

He's gone awesome overnight. Keep up, Eddie. 8-)

But to be fair, he said Bell or Strauss.
