Thought Harmer went very early. Surprised Ackermann and Critchley didn't get picked up. Rimmington getting picked up was lol worthy to me. Malan seemed to go very late.

Hussain and others kept on going on about teams needing wks from mid draft which was stupid imo. Lots of reasonable options on offer for English keepers so could leave those options to later rounds as a lot of teams did.

Some fast bowlers didn't go. Suppose when you can only pick 15 names it's not a surprise teams weren't gambling on the fitness of like Stone or J Overton or Matt Fisher.

There are also guys like TRJ, Steven Finn not getting picked up for whom it must be a blow.

Got to feel sorry for the Sussex members. On the other hand where you have teams with only a handful of players picked it’s not going to be great for (county) team camaraderie.

Amusing that you had foreign coaches drawing on advice from England “star” players for advice on who to pick. Not exactly a group who are likely to have great expertise about the English T20 circuit :)

Can only think teams are beginning to think him being such a liability in the field or running between wickets outweighs his more infrequent match winning contributions.

Gayle can still get added as a replacement?
Worth the risk with his injuries and general lethargy ?

Can he still get added or has he missed the boat ? Thought he was ruled out now, but I don't have a particularly good grasp of this competitions rules!

I'm not saying he would be my first choice as a replacement but I'm sure the powers that be will be looking at ways to squeeze him in somewhere
What was the wildcard thing they kept talking about?

Can’t they sign a £30,000 wild card after the T20 Blast finishes and just before the Hundred starts ? Not sure Gayle will turn up for £30,000, even if the rules allowed it.

Ah ok I wasn't following properly but kept hearn g them mention wildcard picks.
I'm guessing Gayle or any overseas could only replace current overseas picks who get injured or on national duty

GoodAreasShane

Cricketer Of The Year
Michael Neser in for Surrey for the first half of the season. Good signing that, he'll enjoy himself on early season English decks quite a lot I reckon

Malan joins Yorkshire.

https://www.middlesexccc.com/news/2019/11/malan-released-from-contract-to-join-yorkshire

Plenty of disquiet in both Yorkshire and Middlesex in recent times. Fans at Yorkshire seem to want rid of Gale, and possibly Moxon. Middlesex struggling in div 2 and losing players they want to keep.

Other news in recent times (nearly all Surrey) -

Topey signs on for two years at Surrey. White ball contract although he can play red ball games. https://www.kiaoval.com/main-news/topley-agrees-two-year-surrey-deal/
Amla also confirmed on a two year deal at Surrey under a kolpak contract. https://www.kiaoval.com/main-news/amla-joins-surrey-on-two-year-deal/
Surrey have also picked up a couple of well regarded youngsters from other counties. Nick Kimber (notts) and James Taylor (derbyshire)
Surrey also picked up Shadab and D'arcy Short for the blast. Durham had tried to keep Short but Surrey offered the better package. https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/cricket/50167487
Saffer Michael Cohen joins Derbyshire on a two year deal. Derbyshire sign fast bowler Cohen

the downward spiral middlesex find themselves in since the 2016 championship winning season is astonishing.

malan is the only bloke at the club who scores an acceptable level of runs.

how on earth gus fraser has held onto his job eludes me.

Simpson does well enough as keeper bat but other than that every batsman has failed for 2 years. Handscombe or someonw will probably come in as skipper but that doesn't give me much confidence either. Harris is now our second best bat and he is a bowler lol

Pooran returns to Yorkshire for t20 https://www.yorkshireccc.com/news/view/8197/pooran-returns-for-next-year-s-vitality-blast
Qais Ahmad signs on for Gloucestershire for T20 and 6 county games. https://www.gloscricket.co.uk/news/gloucestershire-sign-afghanistan-international-qais-ahmad/
Sean Abbott signs for Derbyshire for the first half of the t20s. Derbyshire sign Abbott
Paul Coughlin heads back to Durham from Notts https://www.trentbridge.co.uk/news/2019/november/coughlin-rejoins-durham.html

Shame about Coughlin these past couple of years. Might have been pushing for international honours in white ball cricket were it not for the bad injuries he's had.

Oah and yesterday Nathan Lyon signed on for Hampshire for the championship season. https://www.ageasbowl.com/cricket/news/hampshire-secure-nathan-lyon-signing-for-2020/
