Whatever it takes!!!
Think it is a question of functional vs the looks. Most modern stadiums need to be built in a certain way to ensure the facilities are accessible without feeling the crowd, like how it used to be in the old style stadiums in India (Kolkata, Mumbai, Chennai - take your pick). Right now, most stadiums are built this way, the difference maker can be the surroundings and the views, like Dharamshala.

Tough calls at the top of the order, what with Bairstow being good against spin but vulnerable to the quicks and Crawley being the opposite. I'm quite relaxed about Bess coming back in. He's shown he can take wickets on one of his good days, and if his radar goes AWOL from time to time, Root's a more than adequate alternative. I don't think that four RFM bowlers is a good idea unless our hosts are kind enough to prepare a green top.
I think it's misleading to count Stokes as a bowler based on recent games.

His last few innings he's bowled the following amount of overs: 0,2,4,6,4,0,0,0. That's a part timer.

Some snippets -

Crowd sang Happy Birthday to Ben Foakes
Crowd cheered Broad saving a boundary running all the way from mid-off
Crowd sang Happy Birthday to Mayank
Crowd asked for random Tamil movie (under production right now) updates from Moeen Ali who then had to ask Ashwin about that movie.
Crowd applauded random England player who was running laps around the ground post match just because.

Sounds like a celebration of being able to attend a cricket match for the first time in ages. I approve.

True, even allowing for him playing as a specialist batsman for much of the time against Pakistan. I'm not sure that we're being told the whole truth about his fitness.

When Root was asked why Stokes was not bowled more, he answered that it was tactical. I would say he is carrying an injury. Bowling at under 80mph. You would think that if he was rusty he would get more overs each innings in the Tests. As it was you could say we were playing four bowlers and the seamers were underbowled. 2nd innings Broad hadn't bowled until the 40th over and 3/4 overs later had two catches dropped.

As for Ali I had a feeling that he wanted to go home because his fingers were bothering him. No f/c bowling since 2019. Then 61 overs. Saw him in the field between overs inspecting his fingers.

@Shri and @Prince EWS

Aren't you overdoing the "dropped" bit?
No.

It was originally Burgey's take on England's rotation/resting strategy and was used for a bit of fun/stirring
I was instrumental in its spread and creation tbf. Not only did I contribute the 2D representation part of it, but I also contributed some foreshadowing a week or so earlier by suggesting that if Bumrah was rested from this series I'd call it a drop and criticise it.

and look where it got him.
His dropping from the forum had nothing to do with the drop meme.

Dropped.

Most modern stadiums are pretty soulless regardless of where they're built in the world for this reason tbh. It was a big worry when Adelaide was being redeveloped.
