Fantastic innings from Collingwood.

Really can't see Australia winning the test from here. At best they will get a draw, but if they are to win it will take a super human effort from one of the batsman.

Yeah, Collingwood has been magnificent. Hasn't put a foot wrong in four sessions at the crease.

Regarding Warne bowling around the wicket, it's nothing all that new. He did the same thing to Pietersen last Ashes with some success, and he often goes around the wicket to try and dry up the runs when someone goes after him. Credit to Pietersen for getting through it without doing anything stupid.

When will England declare? I think they should go to an hour before stumps and then send Australia in, regardless of the total. Hopefully it'll be 550+. There's nothing to be gained in batting on to tomorrow. If Austalia make 600 in reply the game will be a draw anyway, or an England loss, and if they get out for 200 there was no point in going on for so long.

The pitch will get tougher to bat on, though judging by the weather and the level of deterioration so far it won't be all that bad, and 550 odd should be enough if England bowl well. If they don't, 800 won't be enough.

It'll take something special, but it's not out of the question. Australia batted first here in 2003 and made 556 and lost.

550. Last three first innings scores in Adelaide tests going back are 405, 8/575 and 556, and two of those teams batting first have actually lost, so it's not unchasable. It's obviously a very good platform though, and Australia will need to survive tonight and then basically bat for two days, which places a huge amount of pressure on each batsman.

Should be a good day tomorrow.

Pretty happy with today's performance, 285 runs in 78 overs and only 3 wickets lost.

The pitch and the performance made Warne and McGrath looks good rather than world-class, I can't see anything but a draw but it's a reply to Brisbane if not as emphatic as Edgbaston was.
