*Official* 2022 New Zealand Tour of England, Ireland, Scotland & Netherlands

White Ball

State 12th Man
Honestly after yesterday and the reprieve only giving up a 9 run lead I honestly thought NZ would bat a lot better this time around

I'm going to bed. If I wake to 90 all out and a 10 wicket loss I want heads to roll.

Our seconds dispatched this lot 12 months ago. Compete ffs.
Conway mate? Not keen watching the great man bat. He could change it all.

Dunno what it is about Potts - just debutant things? Yes he's bowling ok though nowhere near the figures he's picked up.

Perhaps he bowls a Heavy Ball (TM) - may have to watch closely in his run-up to see if he surreptitiously adds a few grams of extra mass somewhere in his gather movement.
Yeah feels like he hits the deck hard, heavy ball and consistent. He's quite impressive. Very tidy action too, repeatable. Good find for England and he's only 23.

If NZ lose their second wicket before 50, they should send CDG in with a licence. A quick 40-50 odd in a low scoring game would make Stokes take a completely different mind set.

if it doesn’t come off you’ve lost your number seven. Big deal.
They really should have done this

Yeah, not looking a test #5's arsehole atm. He was a number 7 when he started his test career, no? Looks like he's suffering a serious nose bleed at the moment.
No disrespect to Darryl but it feels like Gary only picks battlers haha... They do well though. Nicholls, Mitchell, Blundell, Fletcher, Bracewell are all absolute battlers in my opinion. If you saw them bat in the nets you'd generally not pick them beyond domestic cricket.

Gary himself was an absolute battler so knows a thing or two to respect the battlers. They somehow seem to pull off reasonable success beyond they're capable.

Lots of times yesterday when it looked like all England (us 12/4 and 45/7 and them 59/0 and 92/2 after our 132), yet we are still in it. Need one big middle order partnership and others to chip in.

He’s reasonably tall and there’s something in it for everyone. If you hit good areas and get bounce plus some sideways it’s always difficult to play

Young is class (as opposed to a battler) and is struggling.

Watching some of those guys I named above as battlers is like watching a low budget Hollywood movie. Good screenplay and plenty of substance but you don't generally remember the star cast or any technical brilliance. Also the movie won't register in the head for too long haha

Ideally only watch it when played for free on TV 1 or released on Blu ray. You'll be hard pressed to buy tickets to go watch.

He also started behind a pretty useful (3-6). An in form Kane, an okay Ross, Henry N, and Watling which made things a lot easier.
