Think I am good to make my last two picks as well.

Allan Border (76-80) and Paul Strang (91-94)

Tilakaratne Dilshan
Liton Das+
Virat Kohli
Ross Taylor
Allan Border*
Lance Klusener
Curtis Campher
Paul Strang
Wasim Akram
Bob Willis
Curtly Ambrose

Enjoyed this one. Impossible not to make compromises but overall worked out pretty well.

Haven't checked out other teams but looks like this is one side that will get my vote.

I can do my final pick now.

Was tempted to go with Jacob Oram or Andre Adams for extra 6 hitting power, but decided Kyle Mills was such a quality ODI bowler I'd pick him.

01. Neil Johnson
02. Matthew Hayden
03. Viv Richards
04. David Gower
05. Arjuna Ranatunga (c)
06. Rishabh Pant (wk)
07. Kevin O'Brien
08. Kyle Mills
09. Waqar Younis
10. Mustafizur Rahman
11. Imran Tahir

Perhaps too many left handers in the top 6 (Viv is the only right hander) but a gun batting lineup. All the top 4 averaged over 50 at the World Cup (with Viv the GOAT over 60) and Ranatunga averaging 46. There are excellent finishers in Pant and O'Brien and lots of decent 5th bowlers in the top 7 to support the 4 main bowlers all of whom were world class. Pretty happy with this side.

R10. Scott Edwards (NL, 2018-2022) - was probably going to pick Gurbaz but he will bat at 8 so no real difference

R11. Babar Azam (Pak, 2013-17) - since I'm last to pick from Pakistan

Ranatunga was super underrated IMO. Like you alluded to, always brought it at world cups, even pre '96

As some are adding stats to justify selections, I'll go the full Monty with mine.

1. A.Gilchrist (w/k) / 9169 runs @ 35.89; SR 96.95
2. Upul Tharanga / 6951 runs @ 33.74; SR 75.93
3. R.Richardson (c) / 6248 runs @ 33.41; SR 63.75
4. Rahmat Shah /o 2620 runs @ 36.39; SR 70.24; 14 w @ 36.00; ER 5.77
5. R. van der Dussan / 1267 runs @ 74.53; SR 89.57
6. Inzamam-ul-Haq / 11739 runs @ 39.53; SR 74.24
7. R.Berrington /o 2066 runs @ 28.69; SR 74.67; 33 w @ 38.70; ER 5.23
8. Mashrafe Mortaza o 1787 runs @ 13.75; SR 87.56; 270 w @ 32.94; ER 4.89
9. Anil Kumble o 337 w @ 30.90; ER 4.31
10. D.Underwood o 22 w @ 22.94; ER 3.45
11.E.Chatfield o 140 w @ 25.84; ER 3.58

I knew Gillie had a fine Strike Rate and was my first selection. However, Rassie's batting average and strike rate surprised me. 'Deadly's' (Underwood) figures reflect on an earlier era but his bowling would be greatly suited for the modern game.
