After winning the toss and choosing to bat the Predators got off to a shaky start, losing both Dilshan and Kirsten early on, yet with a contribution from Ponting and a superb innings from Pietersen (with notable support from Hooper) the Predators were able to post a good total.

Somerset on the otherhand got off to very good start and looked set to chase the total down comfortbly until Mills, Razzaq and Hooper choked the life out of their chase. Mills bowling 4 maidens that in the end made the Predators total too much for Somerset.

The ****s were once again unable to convert their starts into big scores and were once again made to pay for it, this time by a sublime Ganguly. Murali however was unplayable and only the sheer grit and determination of Ganguly kept a superb spell from being a possible matchwinner, as he held in against Murali the runs flowed easier at the other end and the Avengers were able to set up a crushing 9 wicket victory.
