(hosted on a neutral venue)

Yes I was so bored that I downloaded windows and wrote in the stats for everyones teams, if a person had not posted their final lineup I did it for them as much as common sense would allow. If they wish for it to be changed in anyway I am happy to do so.

There could still be a home and away series to come but for now lets enjoy the spectacular affair that is the Cricket World Cup!!!

Sevens won by 4 wickets
Man of the match is SR Tendulkar
The championship opener was a cracker of a match highlighted especially by a sublime innings from Tendulkar. After Malinga and Warne managed to restrict The Pathfinders to 217, good bowling was all that could save them. Yet in imperious form Tendulkar quickly decimated all hopes of victory for The Pathfinders, his 92 runs from 86 balls led the 'Lucky' Sevens to victory with 33 overs to spare and while Lee was dangerous with the ball throughout the innings, Tendulkar guided his team home quite comfortably.

A high scoring thriller. ODD E NUF looked comfortable throughout their innings as Smith guided his team to a very healthy 282 for 4. Yet then everything started to go wrong for ODD E NUF, a century opening partnership immediately through them on the back foot. And solid contributions from the entire team saw the ****s home with an over to spare. Anwar starring with 94 from 117 yet well supported by Cairns who bowled economically and hit 32 from 28 balls.

Gul was too much for the Predators today, as he along with the rest of the 79ers attack restricted the Predators to a paltry 133. And despite a few hiccups along the way, Yuvraj (34 off 28), Flower (41 off 38) and Gibbs (25 off 26) smashed the battered Predators into the ground, chasing down the total in only 20 overs.

A very impressive comeback from the previously disgraced Avengers. Yuvraj Singh got the 79ers off to a wonderful start, absolutely thrashing Akram. Yet Shakib al Hasan was there to keep the Avengers in the match, and with 4 maidens, and 3 wickets he managed to restrict the 79ers to 269-7. Then Trescothick got the innings off to a flyer as Ganguly gradually accumulated the runs. Ganguly scored an unbeaten 120* (114) to see the Avengers home with 6 overs to spare.

With such a hard decision for MOTM (Shakib-Ganguly) a left field choice gave the award to Shoaib Malik who scored 68 from 74 during a century partnership with Ganguly.

Despite the best efforts of Dravid and Sarwan and a notable partnership between Afridi and Klusenar, Somerset were never in this match. Waugh and Anwar made victory for Somerset a bridge too far today as they devastated Somersets attack. Losing their first wicket only after posting 191 runs.

The Pathfinders put the Avengers into bat and the Avengers fought doggedly throughout the match. Nearly the entire contributed in some way in one of the least elegant batting innings of recent memory. McCullum was at his best, herding the tail of the Avengers to a respectable total.

The single figure scores tell a story for the Pathfinders, Gayle and Gambhir were undone by Marshall brilliance and despite fight from Lamb Lara and Bishop the Pathfinders simply ran out of batsman.
