Lions tour 2025

Just lacked the accuracy at the critical moments, good steal by Pollock at the end for the final penalty really sealed it.

Not impressive by the Lions by any means, but don't think it matters as none of this XV will see Saturday you'd feel.

I feel like most Lions tours have a midweek game when the second string get rolled out and nearly lose.

Looks like a real good performance nonetheless from the FN Paskifica guys.

And it nearly always happens towards the end when the players realise they have nothing left to play for - for most of them this was their last game on Tour. Only Ringrose and maybe Pollock suggesting they might get a look in for the last Test.

Not sure what happened in the line out, looked like a total mess.

Haven't seen it yet, but the knock to Smith, M sounds concerning given he was in the test XXIII.

Maybe Farrell squeezes onto the bench as cover?

How did Kinghorn go? Wasn't that impressed by Keenan (that strip by Jorgensen doesn't get better on repeated viewings) so he's someone who could come in.

Kinghorn threw the pass that was the intercept try for the FNP first try, otherwise...didn't really notice him do anything of note tbh.

I missed the first 20 mins so didn't see knock to Smith. But agreed, Kinghorn did very little of note, although maybe he'd improve with Russell's distribution. The backs looked confused, the reshuffle clearly didn't help.

But the biggest issue was how much lineout ball they lost, would've won far more comfortably if they'd just been able to retain possession in opposition territory.

M.Smith came off the bench I think, I didn't see it myself as the boss saw fit to rudely schedule a meeting during the game so watching was at a glance for the most part. All I know is he came on, and went off again pretty quickly.

Lions Legends vs Classic Wallabies on SkySports Youtube channel right now - some of the lads on both sides have had a few pies in retirement.

Really surprised Gordon kept his place, if things are as stagnant early as they were last week, I hope McDermott comes on earlier.
Very surprised Kellaway chopped entirely, thought it might of been Potter making way - 6-2 split not really a surprise with Skelton's fitness very questionable.

Quite a few WTFs in both sides from what I can see although Giteau and his Lordship Adam Ashley-Cooper are standouts and Byrne/Williams being the Lions equivalent with his Lordship Tindall reasonably well known.

Ha, the organisation of it all seems a little...loose - Shane Williams isn't at the venue tonight lol, but will be in Sydney apparently.

Huh.

Baffled as to why Tuipulotu has got the arse; can only be an injury, surely? Best back on the paddock in the first test, IMHO.

Think Genge on the bench is a clever move though; there was a very obvious drop in intensity/quality when our forward subs came on last week, so the big fella should help rectify this.

Think Freeman a slightly lucky boy (must've been tempting to move Jones to the wing and bring Ringrose in for an all-Ireland centre pair, assuming Sione is broken) and Kinghorn isn't, to be charitable, a form pick. Although neither was Curry for Brisbane and he was awesome.

Only picking two specialist 15s doesn't give Faz sr much choice though.

Very surprised the Wobs' stick with their 9/10 combo from the first too as, tbh, both kinda stunk the joint out.

Ringrose pulled out of contention with concussion symptoms.

Tuipulotu a hamstring tightness apparently, but was murmurs it'd be Aki regardless - was also that it'd be Ringrose for Jones until he pulled out.

I think Lynagh is sadly the most viable option we have, it's hard to look good when the pack is going backwards etc - I don't give Gordon the same pass though, he's just shite.

I thought Lynagh was ok - did some bad things but also some good things. Whether he can develop to eradicate the former and just do the latter, either in this series or over a longer career, I'm less sure.

2 of my mates are far more qualified to speak about it than me

Both say that Lynagh lacks athleticism and won’t make it
