Jayasuriya is easily better ODI player than Akram. There's nothing much seperating Akram, Murali, McGrath and Garner with the ball too.

Both are among the greatest. You can’t say Jaya is easily better. I doubt he actually is better overall also. Wasim was the standout in 1992 WC Finals and went on to pick 500 ODI wickets. Probably the record of most wickets by pacer that will remain unbeaten.

Jayasuriya scored 13000 runs and took 300 wickets. That is probably not going to get broken too. He is a better ODI cricketer easily. Destructive batsman, very versatile spinner who was one of the first spinners to bowl in death, ATG fieldsman and a very good captain. Way too much for Akram to cover with his superior bowling abilities.

Jayasuriya achieved this longevity feat in 440 matches. Wasim did in 359.

Wasim was a capable hitter too whose batting became pivotal in winning Pakistan the WC final in 1992 and was a good captain too.

Jayasuriya achieved longevity because he was disciplined and fit. Wasim played for 19 years and Jayasuriya for 20. Nothing much between them in longevity. Jayasuriya managed such a stellar fitness record, other than for a freak injury or two, never missed a match.
