Stokes would normally be the obvious and pretty much only choice. But given his medical history indicates he’s not exactly an emotional fortress it might not be so clear cut.

Stokes would be ideal but might not be up for it right now. Which of your keepers can skipper? You can hide them down the order and I guess you'd have to have a no dickheads policy since everyone in the team needs to realise the not quite good enough guy is there because they too also all suck.

Plenty of rumours around that he jumped before he was pushed. Presumably the authorities won't do what Bedser did in 1981 when Botham resigned and Bedser came out five minutes later and said we were about to sack him anyway.
