Our series victories over Pakistan and ENgland have moved us up to 5th place in the Test rankings.

All of our specialist batsmen are ranked between 7th (Narang) and 14th (Heads). Dharan, while still the world's no.1 ODI bat, has slipped down to 31st in Tests.

Tour match vs Derbyshire

The limited overs leg of CW's tour began with a 50-over match at Derby. Corrin and Capone were rested and winne missed out through injury. The tourists chose to bat first.

Playing XI: Heads, Dharan, Ballich, Spark, Riley, Clark, Ikram, Hing, Howe, Phlegm, Dong

The going was initially slow, especially from the top three, as CW looked steady but failed to take advantage of the good batting conditions. Dharan's form continued to desert him with his 10 taking 28 deliveries, and Ballich's dreary effort stood in stark contrast to Spark's attempts to break the shackles with his 27 from 18.

100/3 in the 23rd, Ballich continued on his way to 51 from 91 before miscuing a chip to mid on.

The innings was instead built on a run-a-ball 98* from Riley. The left hander missed out on a deserved hundred as he was unable to get on strike in the final over, but put on 93 from the final 10 overs with Clark (who contributed a breezy 47 from 34 balls.) CW finished on 279/5.

Each of the seamers struck once in their opening spell as CW made inroads into the host's lineup, and the score read 41/3 after 9 overs.

Jonathan Moss decided to counter, and Clarke was the main recipient as his three overs went for 29 runs. The spinners were brought on to calm matters, and Hing had the solution as he had Moss lbw with his fourth ball, gone for a run-a-ball 47.

Hing made his way through the order with wickets in his second and third overs while Ikram had top scorer Spendlove out lbw for 49. When Havell was run out for one in the 29th over, Derbyshire were finished at 152/8. The spinners claimed the final two wickets as CW claimed an easy win.

CW won by 116 runs

1st ODI vs England

CW won the toss and batted for the first ODI of the triangular tournament against England and Pakistan.

Playing XI: Heads, Dharan, Narang, Spark, Riley, Ballich, Ikram, Corrin, Capone, Howe, Phlegm

Dharan's woes continued with only 2 off 18, and Narang fell in the ninth over for 6. Heads and Spark formed the backbone of the innings with their hundred partnership lasting until the 34th, before Spark was bowled by Flintoff for 50 off 66.

Heads reached his century soon after, but was unable to kick on at the death and departed for 109 off 135 balls. That job was left to Riley (56* off 57) and Ballich (27* off 17) as 88 runs were added in the last 10 overs, lifting CW to 264/4.

Capone made the early breakthrough, and England found the seamers had to score off early on. When KP was harshly adjudged to have edged behind, England were 23/2 in the ninth over.

Strauss and Vaughan counter-attacked, however. With Howe bearing the majority of the damage, England shot up to 98 for 2 in the 19th, Strauss having gained his half-century. Corrin struck to remove Vaughan - thanks to a brilliant diving catch by Ballich - but Strauss pressed on, hammering the score past 140 at the halfway stage.

Narang was thrown the ball and got another crucial breakthrough, Flintoff nicking the legspinner behind. That slowed down the scoring for an 8-over period of only 30 runs, and Corrin came back on to dismiss both Newman and the big wicket of Strauss. CW were back on top with the score on 174/6. England needed 91 from 16 overs.

A maiden from narang was follwed by Corrin getting Tremlett in his last over, and from there CW were in control. The seamers took wickets to make sure things did not go awry at the death, with Phlegm taking the last wicket of Geriant Jones. England were all out for 214.

CW won by 50 runs

2nd ODI vs Pakistan

CW brought in Hing for Ikram for the second ODI, Hing having previously been harshly suspended for inappropriate comments. On what looked a perfect batting strip, CW were surprisingly put in.

It proved to be a good decision as the CW top order failed. Of the top four only Narang was able to contribute positivity, with Heads, Ballich and Spark soaking up far too many deliveries for their small contributions.

When Narang hit Razzaq straight to point his side were in serious trouble, and Dharan - moved down the order after his poor run - was caught behind for just 1, a serious rescue effort was needed. CW were 80/5 in the 25th over.

The recovery came from cheifly from the bat of Riley, who with Corrin in support added 63 for the sixth wicket in just under 12 overs. Riley began to open his shoulders during his 50 partnership with Hing, but his partner was unable to counterattack with him as Hing fell for 15 off 28.

The death overs too went Pakistan's way as Razzaq stormed to his five-for. The allrounder blew through the tail, and Riley was left stranded on 82* from 80 balls. CW were all out in the penultimate over for 206.

Howe gave the CWers hope of defending the score as he started with a maiden, followed by taking Taufeeq's wicket in the next over. However, Pakistan quickly upped the scoring with run-a-ball cameos from Yousuf and Younis, and despite three wickets falling, the run rate needed was down to a mere three runs per over early on.

A steady fourth wicket partnership between Shoaib Khan and Inzamam put Pakistan in complete control, and although Shoaib was bowled by Hing in the 35th over, a breezy 31 off 35 from Razzaq was enough to see Pakistan home with comfort.

Pakistan beat CW by 5 wickets
