Isn't it more disturbing that the player's agent, who is meant to look after his client's interests, was responsible for arranging the girls in the hotel room?

It's a strange one, that - because there's absolutely no disputing the fact that people, all over everywhere, act like that and no-one thinks twice about it. Presuming, of course, that it's nothing sinister. I mean, two lads picking-up two girls and taking to a motel room is hardly unheard-of, is it?

It's not something I'm exactly keen on, myself, but it seems a bit of a double-standard of times that sportsmen get complete condemnation for something that everyday people do without so much as a murmur.

Yeah, but it sounds like he was looking after his players interests. Thats the point of being young. Play sports, party hard and get laid.

Well he says that
1) This happened half a decade ago......so its between 2002-2004
2) Its a non-descript tournament
3) India played finals and lost badly.
4) This chap did not contribute much.
5) His career is on & off

So it looks like the VB series final in Sydney Feb 2004 where Australia beat India by 208 runs and the chaps who failed were Sehwag, Laxman, Balaji, Badani and Yuvraj.

I dont think its Sehwag & Yuvraj & Laxman as they have done quite a bit since.
Its either Balaji or Badani..........most probably Badani.

I don't think the girls were 'picked' up.......sounds more like hookers/strippers. Doubt that agent has the looks or skills to pick up girls.

Sadly, this is a generation that has grown up believing that attitude - spelt attitood by the 'cooler' ones - is everything. The webpage of one of the players reveals him to be a semi-literate Rimbaud. "c i dont give a **** wat people think about me...i just know dat i give evrything for d people i knw n whu r close to mee..specially gurlz," it says, lapsing unapologetically into a rap-speak that sounds pathetic coming from one who certainly wasn't raised in a ghetto.

I very very much doubt they were paid. It is very easy for a sports star of even mediocre fame to pick up women.

But this was the agent who had picked up said girls...........I doubt if you can go up to some girls and say that you are the agent of XYZ and pick them up.........if it was that easy all you would need is a photo with a sport star and anyone could pick up girls.

I doubt if even groupies are that stupid.
