Head and Warner are massive upgrade over Gilchrist and Hayden in ODI considering their current form. 🙁

Whatever it takes!!!
Marsh and Smith are also comfortably better than Ponting and Martyn.

Inglis seems an upgrade over Symonds. Labu/Stoinis certainly better than the useless #7s they have both in 03 and 07. Zampa is a better SC LO spinner than Warne and Hogg ever were. Hazlewood, Cummins and Starc are collectively better than any fast bowling attack Australia has ever put together.

This is done.

I guess Ind will prefer losing to SA in the finals, rather than Aus, cause the latter coupled with 2003 will give the Aussies too much bragging rights over us?
I mean Australia has lost two straight home test series to us, minnows like Nepal and new zealand probably have more bragging rights than them.

India missed Shardul Thakur in the final

India lost because they made a big mistake in team selection. Cummins and co. are on their way to Sydney where they will be greeted by handful of supporters and burgey, the most hated man on CW. So what went wrong?

The only bowler who could have stopped the run flow and saved India from Head and Warner was dropped. He was punished for bowling beautifully. Shami was picked and he took 30 wickets thereafter but his terrible record against Australia only meant one thing and that is exactly what happened. He went for 97/0 from his ten overs. David Warner absolutely nailed him. He tasted it pretty bad when it mattered most. Bumrah was treated like a third grade bowler and it was quite a spectacle. Maxwell clubbed him for sixes for fun. One shot that he played with one hand only. It did not matter that Smith got a golden duck and Labuschagne was mankaded soon after. Marsh and Maxwell made 200 run partnership after the onslaught by Head and Warner. India missed Shardul Thakur’s wobble seam deliveries and deadly slow bouncers. He would have been pretty handy coming at first change and cleaning up Australia’s top order. Rahul Dravid and Rohit Sharma got themselves to blame only. Now they will have to wait another four long years.

When the camera was focused on modi, it was clear that he was annoyed. The previous night he had called and asked for Shardul Thakur’s inclusion. At least he has a good cricket brain. There was no hope left when Australia reached 427. Rohit Sharma came out swinging wildly just to see his stumps rattled by Starc. Kohli exchanged a heated conversation with Kettleborough after he was given lbw when the ball clearly hit him outside off but they had no reviews left. Gill and Iyer used up two reviews before heading out towards dressing room. Then the indian tail fell like deck of cards.

All hope was lost and the man who could have saved his team from this humiliating defeat was sitting in the corner of the dressing room with a blank face. He shouted out loud, “ My punishment is complete.”

Fielding/ catching is the biggest difference between the sides even though India are better at the two primary disciplines. Australia were sensational in the field in the sf, and India won despite their awful showing. There's too many liabilities in our side for that not to rear it's head in a big pressure game.

This might be the most logical post in the history of this thread
