Good team but Sanga does better when he's at 3 and not keeping. Gilchrist for Inzi would make it better

Inzi will be the backbone of this team.

Throughout his career Inzi batted with 2 to 3 wickets down for nothing and given pak victory from there.

With sehwag and viv in top and incase of another collapse.. inzi will be the most reliable batsman. If not Inzi.. I would bring Dravid.. I think sanga is good enough to keep at Any level!!

A solid team. There are a number of openers who have excellent credentials - Graeme Smith and Matthew Haydn spring to mind from the modern era. I too would slot Gilchrist in for Inzi, though I can understand your reasoning.

Two spinners is always an awful waste unless you’re playing on a dust bowl

1 Hobbs
2 Sutcliffe
3 Bradman
4 Smith
5 Barrington
6 Sobers
7 Flower (wk)
8 Marshall
9 Steyn
10 Garner
11 Donald

Confident my team would beat yours. Made sure I didn’t pick a player from your 15. I discounted the bowlers who didn’t play much and ~100 years ago
or more.

One team with 2 spinners, one with none. Neither with a proper 'keeper. A part of me just died after seeing this on CW. Fer shame.

Lol.. 2 teams and no Gilly? I mean if you are gonna pick Flower, might as well pick AB.
He’s taken in the 15. I didn’t pick players from his 15.

Flower is a better batsman in tests than De Villiers. I almost picked Dhoni as he’s a superior gloveman but decided Flower wouldn’t have to do anything special with the gloves keeping to my bowling attack.

Atg seamers will take wickets on any pitch. Don’t need a spinner for the sake of it. Sangakkara and Flower are both frontline keepers. Sangakkara was better as a specialist bat and didn’t open however.

What was Sanga's keeping actually like? He played as a keeper for quite I while IIRC, so I'm assuming he wasn't absolutely terrible (although Kamran Akmal had a decent-length career, so...). I can't recall his keeping ever being mentioned apart from in the context of how much more he averaged with the bat when he wasn't doing it tbh

This thread should moved to the ATG thread. Not only because that’s where it belongs but also because the content needs hiding - and quick.

Inzy? I'd put him behind Miandad and Younis Khan and on a par with MoYo. If Babar Azam kicks on in the next 3-4 years Inzi wouldn't even make an all-time Pakistani side, let alone a side like this. Will still (sadly) never forget the 1992 semifinal v NZ though.

Inzi has won pak more matches than all those Batman you have named. from 96 onward, pak only had one good opener.. They didn’t have number 3. yousuf peaked 2000 and younis peaked 2005 and saeed Anwar retired 2003. He was carrying pak batting throughout those years.

There were times when they were 2 to 3 down for nothing. He won matches for pak from there.
