How good are the World Cup pitches?

I think seeing the way the big teams have struggeled even against the minnows shows that the pitches are probably a bit too heavily loaded in favour of the bowlers, atm the pitches are very slow and low.


Do you guys think the nature of these pitches would improve in the coming days, because if that doesn't happen then we might see the bowlers dominating through the WC.

Don't forget, not all the grounds these practice games are being played on are being used for the Tournament Real.

But still you expect better prepared pitches for a tournament as big as the world cup, its not like the other grounds have decks that would have tremendous life in them.

There's only so much you can do, I highly doubt the groundsmen will have deliberately prepared uneven wickets.

Yeah but the bowlers dominating because the batsmen just can't score and the ball doesn't come onto the bat isn't the ideal scenario. If the pitches were fast and bouncy, it'd have been exciting, and the bowlers would've dominated too.

Well good batsmen can score on low and slow pitches too..if the pitches of the cup are similar to these then the sub-co teams will do better than say eng or sa

I've read in most English players' autobiographies that all the nets except at Bridgetown are decidedly average by English Test ground standards.
