Has there ever been a player as poor as Mohammad Sami play so many tests?

Ian Butler? Was shocking in ODIs at any rate. Not much better in tests. Don't think he played many FC matches before he was selected though so inexperience probably played a part

Would walk into the Ugandan side as a middle order batsman, who might bowl an over or two if there were an injury.

Opening the batting. I'm deadly serious. He can take the shine off the ball - he'd do a better job of that regularly than Hameed/Hafeez/Farhat/whoever IMO, and he could bowl a few overs per match flat out (and by a few, I mean about 5 per innings) just trying to change it up a bit.

He always seems to bat like that when I see him, though. Obviously he doesn't do it every time or his record would be much better, but presuming he has the mental capacity and desire to do such a thing, I really don't think it would be a terrible idea. It clearly has no chance of happening and, if we're being serious here, really shouldn't, but I'd like to see it happen.

Yeah I sometimes feel sorry for him because he does seem like he's trying his absolute guts out, and also seems to be a nice guy.

Sad but the reality of test cricket is its for the best cricketers in the world, and he's incredibly lucky to have played as many matches as he has.

He's the worst pacer ever but the interesting thing is that despite havng such a terrible record at test level,people like Imran Khan,Aamer Sohail,Ramiz Raja etc have said sometimes that he's a good bowler & is not being used properly by the team management.

Mohammad Sami is not poor in the sense of a lack of talent, he is a poor performer but one of incredible talent and at the age of 26, he will play probably ten more Tests at least before the selectors lose patience if he has not improved.

The fact is that he posesses the ability to bowl incredibly fast (150kph) and swing the ball but has slowed down for accuracy. The fact that he has done this is a testoment to the dire level of coaching that he has had.

Sorry but don't agree with this post, to be talented as a bowler first and formost you have to be able to put the ball in a good area consistently something which he has never had. He might have had some potential a good 7 or 8 years ago when he swung the ball considerably at around 150kph. 26 is young as a cricketer but considering as I've said that he's been around for a good few years now and people should be growing impatient with him. I hope he doesn't play 10 more test matches.

The 10 more Test matches is a realistic thing though, not a wish, I can see them putting their faith in him for a bit longer.

This chap had a fairly awful record for a specialist batsman over 40 Tests and he was dreadful to watch. He only retained his place because Gavaskar liked batting with him.
