Flop XI

Kenneth Viljoen

International Debutant
1.Jonny Bairstow
One of the best ODI openers in this generation, IPL superstar, World Cup winning champ ..
Mega flop.

2.Temba Bavuma
One of the most in form players going into the tournament unable to replicate that form ,been a passenger really.

3.Babar Azam (C)
One of the World's best ODI players couldn't score even 1 hundred in the tournament from 9 matches ? Definitely a flop , and his captaincy was the worst aswell.

4.Joe Root
Expected a lot better from this run machine, just couldn't get going.

5.Shakib Al Hasan
Compare the WC he had in 2019 to this year's WC , night and day ..All Rounder with the biggest reputation failed to deliver. Also the Timed out decision on Mathews left a sour taste on the tournament.

6.Jos Buttler (WK)
Another WC Winner and IPL superstar bombed out spectacularly in this WC. Buttler got his butt kicked really.

7.Shadab Khan
Pakistan really needed him to be a wicket taking force, but he couldn't do what Afridi did in 2011 , flopped hard

8.Dunith Wellalage
After a great Asia Cup where he dismissed a number of high profile batsman, the starboy fizzled to dust pretty quickly on the biggest stage .

9.Mark Wood
Fastest bowler in the World saw his deliveries go even faster to the boundary at this WC

10.Mustafizur Rahman
Dude was anonymous the entire tournament it feels like he never played , I had to double check to even confirm he played . 5 wickets in 8 games for one of the best Asian pacers get in the flop team sir.

11.Haris Rauf
Another speed demon that got exorcised, Rauf was expensive and just couldn't get going.

International Captain
The scary thing with Root is that he had the 3rd highest average for England at 30.

Wood had the 4th highest at 28, which actually makes him a more than useful lower order batter in this team.

King Kane

International Debutant
Bairstow
Conway
Azam
Root
Buttler
Lvingstone
Mooen
Shadab
Wood
Rauf
Mustafizur
Harsh on Conway, he scored 152 not out against England, he didn't do much after that but that innings is surely enough to keep him out of this team.

Bavuma should be opening with Bairstow especially after he just got out for a duck in the semi final.

Latham should be our representative in that team but Buttler was probably an even bigger disappointment than him as a keeper batsman.

Wood was poor, but to be honest he had a very mediocre ODI record coming into the world cup. More fool England for picking him so often. He doesn't have variety and can be lined up by the best players of pace too easily.
