Flintoff a chucker ?

Roebuck has written previously about Flintoff's action. I doubt he's any more of a chucker than anyone else.

Yeah but geez, even the Aussie journo's don't turn on the Aussie players like that!

roebuck going for overkill there. theres no need to make up allegations such as that....... the aussies are still going to win the ashes whether or not flintoff is playing

I notice to that Mr Roebuck conveniently ignores the fact that Lee & Kirtley have both been reported for suspect actions when he lists those who've been reported.

An unattractive little insinuation.

With regards to Freddie's action, well it's all wrist, isn't it? "Chucking" concerns itself with the straightening (or not) of the elbow joint.

Roebuck is an angry man, he has some strange ideas of what is acceptable, like caning young cricketers
The words I'd use to describe Roebuck would be starred out.

It's a dig, that's all it is.

Roebuck is using his large money contract with an Indian newspaper to take a shot at England.

I'm amazed at some of the vitriol in this thread.
No, Flintoff's not a chucker by the new realistic rules, but of course he was by the old stupidities, that's blatantly obvious. With the very primative things they used on Sky they estimated the flexation in the elbow was between 10 and 13 degrees, far more than in Hoggard and Harmison.

Why would he take a shot at his own team?
It's a player, not the team, he's taking a shot at.

Exactly, he uses his wrist to get more spped on the ball not his elbow. BTW, did Kirtley get cleared because it is truly horrific, his action. Sussex TV highlights watch any of the other teams highlights and you will find that his arm bend about 30 degrees. That surely not legal

Harmison clearly has hyper-extension. his arm goes backwards and he cannot do anything about it due to the speed of his arm so it is completely involuntary. Someone like Kirtley and Shabbir Ahmed seem to bend their arms intentionally.

I dont see anything wrong with Hoggard's action

this is the sor of hyper-extension harmy gets

It is interesting how some people have immediately jumped on the flintoff bandwagon here and proclaimed he isnt a chucker.......while in the same vein they criticise Murali.

Does Flintoff extend his elbow ? Yes he does.
Is Flintoff a chucker ? No he isnt-because he is under the accepted tolerance limits.
