Just thought I’d clarify I few things raised on MSN and in this thread.

First off, the feuding and bickering that I was referring to had nothing to do with me personally. I generally get on well with most members and can’t recall anyone recently having a go at me. Included in this is a misconception that dontcloseyoureyes targets me or has it in for me or whatever, that’s not true at all, it’s really just a little bit of banter. I’m not sure if that makes it acceptable or not, but I certainly don’t have a problem with it personally.

My issue is with the pages of sniping and arguments here of people who have very little desire to actually discuss anything of substance and would much rather spend their time squabbling with others. I have no intention of naming any names or calling anyone out either.

For me CW has always been a place where I enjoyed posting and enjoyed the atmosphere and even when the quality of discussion dropped off I still stayed on as people were generally much better natured. That’s not really the case anymore, there’s so much animosity going around, people are so quick to jump down others throats at any opportunity.

I don’t think it will be like this forever and hopefully things will get better, but Fusion asked as a mod why don’t I do something. Well, tbh, I have tried many things but a lot of it seems to have failed. A so called ‘wave of repression’ is not the answer either, that will do much more harm than good and any large scale attempt to eradicate certain things could leave CW in a lot worse state than it’s at now. That’s certainly something I don’t want.

Really, what it’s going to take a conscious effort from the senior posters around here to realise that they owe a duty to the forum to clean up their acts, to set an example in providing a friendly atmosphere around the place and to try and get the forum back up to the heights it was once at.

I’ll be back in a month or so, depending on which direction the forum goes in. Hope all members have a safe and happy holidays.
You're just scared now that you have realized India is actually gonna win the series in Australia, and thought this was the best way out of the bet :p.

Point is there is no lightening the mood... and trying just makes things worse IMO.

Aseem's a good kid, and if anyone can lighten the mood he probably can with his mad enthusiasm, but really... as I say, now's not the time. We want to mourn the loss of our Gelman in peace. (And I feel guilty cracking even that basic gag)

Yes, dear any-fuss-is-too-much-fuss-ster.
You're acting like there's been a death in your close family. Whereas all that has happened is that a poster on an internet forum - yes, an internet forum - is taking a break from posting.

Hyperbole's the perfect word for this, Matteh.

I can't believe I ate the whole thing
I think a lot of cricketwebbers have forgotten how to simply be nice to one another. A lot of tough guy acts going on and a lot of "I post but I don't care" attitudes. If everyone were just themselves for 5 minutes and stopped trying to be something they're not in an attempt to look cool, CW would be a better place.

IMO.

Richard's hypocrisy has reached unprecedented heights. If one looks at the forum feuds, it is not very hard to notice that he is involved in most of them and perhaps one of the main reasons why pasag has withdrawn from posting.

But instead of changing his egotistical ways he is acting the sad innocent angel in mourning here in this thread yet in the other threads he is talking business as usual.
