I'm going to go for George Duckworth - legend has it he was a decent keeper, but I've read plenty of books that talk of him missing chances and a top score of 39 and a batting average of 14 makes him very much a passenger by 21st century standards - also he played in a lot of winning sides, so gives me some flexibility for later

Ashley Giles played in a ****ton of wins

Took less than 3 wickets per test

King of tying up an end I guess. He makes for a pretty crappy all-rounder

Well, since mr_mister has timed out, AndyZH seems to have forgotten about this thread and Firebreaker is banned, I guess it's me...

Another player from the great WI era who only contributed now and then: Keith Arthurton: 17 wins and 6 losses, but averaged only 30.

Patterson Thompson: "Making Devon Malcolm look like a metronome, he bowled 22 no-balls and returned match figures of 22-1-135-4 - which flattered him."

A passenger on the fastest ride of them all, Len Darling did little at test level but his driver Bradman scored him plenty of wins
