Agreed. And Nasser's an ugly woman. She's not the best, but can't believe people actually don't like Nasser Hussain.
Probably not. The fact that she's "different" in a certain way means people will make average into poor.Nothing wrong with her tbh. Decent enough, not annoying or anything. Just a run of the mill commentator imo, I get the feeling people wouldn't say anything if it was a man doing the commentary exactly the same way.
And also often makes no sense whatsoever. He talks just for the sake of talking and also tries to 'create' excitement in his voice.
How about no?BTW... someone change the thread title to add the extra "m" FFS.
Frankly, I think Bhogle is worse. And also often makes no sense whatsoever.
Haven't watched this Symmonds character as I'm avoiding the 20-20s like the plague, but if shes anything like Bhogle she should be barred from the commentary box.
And why not?How about no?
Happy?And why not?
She hardly qualifies to be called Donna 'mmmmm' SymmondsHappy?
Almost Rolleyes-worthy TBH.Happy?
Seriously, it's a huge difference between bowling normally, and bowling to try and hit the stumps without a batsman in front of them. Practice would make a very large difference.omg i just cannot stand her. man when the cricket starts on channel 9 again hearing bill lawry, richie benaud, chappelli, tony greig, tubby, and heals will be a bloody relief.
she calls it almost like a frickin radio commentary. If you dont know what it is its when the commentator describes where the ball bounces, where the ball gets hit etc.
This is the most disgraceful moment for a commentator ever, lets see how many people here saw this. I am not making this up, she actually said this.
*its a close game between australia and pakistan(i think it was those teams) a few overs to go*
Donna: I wonder if any of these teams has been practising the bowl out?
Other commentator: Uhhh they just aim at the stumps....
For half a second i thought she was a practical joke or something. I mean why does she call nearly every single game? I have a hard time understanding what the hell michael holding says but at least hes played test cricket. Also it helps to know the names of fielders. Watch an NRL game and watch ray warren call every single player's name when they get the ball and who tackles them...not many people can do that sitting in a com box, even recognising them on the TV is hard.
heres another example
*gillespie bowls a ball that mccullum catches*
Donna: well thats an excellent take by......the.....New Zealand keeper(obviously didnt know his name)
If u dont even know the keeper thats a problem.
I have let off some steam now, i have vented my frustration on this ridiculous commentator.
I don't see what's wrong with that comment actually. If a bowl-out were so simple and intrinsic, a lot more specialist bowlers would succeed at it. It's no wonder that the part-timers and no-timers are typically the ones who fare better in bowl-out situations. Specialist bowlers are accustomed to bowling at stumps guarded by batsmen. It's not the same thing at all. And in the same way that penalty kicks need to be practiced, bowlers need to practice hitting the stumps. This is the most disgraceful moment for a commentator ever, lets see how many people here saw this. I am not making this up, she actually said this.

Agreed.reading this thread, you'd think that she was the first and only commentator to engage in some facile comment. They ALL do it. She's not my favourite commentator, but I don't think she's the worst going around in world cricket.
