This is basically an anti-hb side at it's finest, these guys don't care about secondary **** but they are some of the best at the primary skill sets of bowling, batting, fielding (? I have no clue), ball tampering, fixing etc. Also this is one rad middle order (I think )
Gooch, Barrington, and Tendulkar are all useful part-timers.

01 WG Grace (c)
02 Bob Simpson
03 Kane Williamson
04 Marnus Labuschagne
05 Martin Donnelly
06 AB De Villiers (wk)
07 Shakib Al Hasan
08 Wasim Akram
09 Ryan Harris
10 Jim Laker
11 Dennis Lillee

Very happy with this side - 8 ATGs (including the one and only WG), 1 future one in Marnus, and 2 who would've been but for short careers in Donnelly and Harris.

Amazing opening pair, very strong middle order and tail, and superb allround bowling attack including a ridiculously good spin attack. Gun fielding side too with Donnelly and Marnus in the ring, Simpson at slip, and Williamson in the gully. Might have to hide WG though!
Suggesting that your team has 8 ATG's is a stretch

*WG Grace - England's best ever cricketer (perhaps 3rd best of all time behind Bradman and Sobers).
*Simpson - perhaps Australia's greatest opener, very handy legspinner, and ATG slip.
*Williamson - averages 61.8 for the last 10 years (not far behind Smith's 63).
* De Villiers - had the most remarkable range of the modern era. Averaged 57.4 as keeper.
*Shakib - one of the 2 best spin bowling allrounders of all time and did it at the same time unlike Faulkner. 2nd best allrounder behind Kallis of the 21st century.
*Wasim - best leftarmer of all time.
*Laker - 2nd best offie of all time behind Murali. His 19 wickets seems likely to stand for all time.
*Lillee - had the world record for test wickets despite injury and WSC reducing appearances. Best bowler of the 1970s.

Don't you need a keeper with less runs than Barlow?

Williamson isn't an ATG yet
Trumper, Hayden and Morris are all arguably better than Simpson, not to mention Lawry, Ponsford and Jackson who are all very close
Davidson is better than Akram
Grace, De Villiers, Al Hasan, Akram, Laker and Lillee are probably the only ATG's

The All Conditions All-Rounders

01. Colin McDonald
02. Herbert Sutcliffe
03. Peter May *
04. Joe Root
05. Andy Flower +
06. Tony Greig (6)
07. Jack Gregory (5)
08. Shaun Pollock (2)
09. Ravindra Jadeja (4)
10. Vernon Philander (1)
11. Bill Johnston (3)

Exactly the kind of team I was looking to create. Has numbers in both batting and bowling, and quality performers on both ends as well.

Batting strength is headed by Sutcliffe, Root and May at the core scoring a bulk of runs. Colin McDonald picked as an opener specifically for his ability in tough conditions, batting courageously and effectively against the pace and aggression of Hall, and doing exceptionally well on sticky wickets against Laker. But the big draw of the batting lineup is its depth. One of the few ATG wicket-keeper batsman, and true all-rounders down to 9, and even bats down to 10 with Philander. Shout outs to @honestbharani .

The bowling attack has a plan as well. Basically the idea is to turn the criticism of "conditions dependence" on its head. Teams like India or South Africa struggled without a plan B for bowling in SENA or subcontinental conditions respectively, and so such a criticism can have merit. But what if your plan B, is the plan A of the alternative condition? This was the idea in choosing both Philander and Jadeja together, two of the best ever ( in Philander's case maybe GOAT? ) at abusing seam friendly and spin friendly conditions respectively. You've got Pollock and Johnston rounding out the frontline bowlers, and more all-rounders giving 6ish very useful bowling options ( 2 of them in Johnston and Greig able to provide either pace or spin depending on the need ).

Oh yeah Jadeja's also good at fielding or something, so if we want to meme we can say that is the answer and I selected him just for that. :p

Anyway, very happy with how it all turned out, and having a good opportunity to research and get into digging into cricket history, so thanks for that guys, and all of the picks that kept me on my toes, and good convo throughout! :D

Voting is going to ridiculously hard for this.
Would 4 groups of 4 or 2 groups of 8 with a final of 8 be best?
Multiple votes.

Also what works best for cricfan has to be a priority.
