Game 1: CW XI v CW 'A' at the CW Oval

Pitch Conditions:
Nice consistent bounce, good for batsmen. Some seam movement and bit of pace for the bowlers. Very little for spinners.

[True:] Welcome to the Daily Blast TV's coverage of the 1st Charity game between these 2 teams. We head down to Kwase on the pitch for the coin toss.

[Knight:] Goff has won the toss. What do you want to do?

[Goff:] Looks a solid surface and hopefully it'll be at it's best early in the game, probably wear a bit later. We've got a very powerful batting lineup. Some inexperience on the bowling side, but still a lot of talent. Confident of victory today.

[Knight:] So you're fielding Daniel. What are your thoughts on that?

[Towns:] We don't mind chasing at all. Our batting is pretty handy until number 9 and our bowling is outstanding in my estimation.

[Knight:] Playing a specialist spinner on a seamer's wicket?

[Towns:] Chris isn't the biggest turner of the ball. Changes in flight and good accuracy get him where he wants to be.

[Knight:] Well we're all set for a cracking match. Stay with us.

Lovely effort lads.

It's a pity Daniel (Towns) was feeling a bit crook with a stomach bug, and I had to call the shots while he was off the field. His batting shoed the effects of this virus, but it was a galant effort indeed to stride to the crease at first drop, well done mate.

While CW XI got off to a blinder, I feel I brought Law in 1 over too early, however he made up for that with a fantastic display of bowling. A little top order collapse for us had us worried, but the old heads of Ghansar and Eclipse saw us home.

Well done to Chris Law, and heres hoping for the best with Daniel's health.

Bring on game 2.

aaaah.... AWESOME! great result for the boys. would have liked a wicket, but at least my econ. rate was good, im happy with that. mad to have use of the new ball as well! great work boys and two very good innings with the bat.

There's little that can be said about this performance - a terrible middle-order collapse, a great new-ball burst from Rob, but Zaid and Eclipse kept their heads superbly and just milked the change bowlers.

We've got to pick this up, big-time. Come on, boys!

Gutted with my nought, but hugely happy to see our team take the 'top' boys down. Awesome display by Chris, Moon and Ghansar. These guys are really showing their worth, and I'm proud of 'em.

Great show by Rob for the opposing team, too. He certainly had us outdone for a while there - I've always enjoyed watching him dismantle Dev League teams, however usually I'm on his side. Looks like I finally got a taste of his medicine! Not quite the medicine I needed on the day, that's for sure.

Looking forward to the next games.

Cricket Web XI v Cricket Web A
Game 2
at the PDV Dome

[Berry] Good day again. We're here at the PDV Dome, where we're met with beautiful weather conditions and all set for the second game of the Clash of the Titans charity series. The first game was comprehensively won by the 'A' side, as the spin of Chris Law and the middle order batting did the damage.

[Kwase] Now the scene swings over to the Dome, where we can expect a quick and bouncy wicket that will have the quick bowlers in 7th heaven. Batsmen will not, however, be totally out of it, as there is room for quality players to score runs.

[Berry] Indeed it will be a true test for all involved, but I do suspect that the easier going will come chasing, when the surface moisture has been lost. Let's head down to the middle, where our new correspondent Martin Tufnel is with the two captains.

[Martin] Cheers guys. I'm here with Brendon and Dave and we're just about set for the toss.

[Dave] Heads please.

[Martin] Heads it is. What'd you like to do?

[Dave] We're going to field first. Should be a lot in it for the quicks, so we hope to exploit that first up. We trust our chasing a lot more than batting first, so it work perfectly for us. Now let's just hope the boys can head out and back it up.

[Martin] Any changes to the side from the first game?

[Dave] Well, me obviously. Yeh, Nath sits this one out and I'm taking my first run of the series. No other changes, except a bit of tweaking to the batting order.

[Martin] Thanks Dave. Good luck.

[Dave] No worries.

[Martin] Brendon. Any changes to your side?

[Brendon] No. We figured we played a good XI in the first game, but the better team on the day prevailed. I've still got faith in the guys so we're heading back out there again. There was the option to play Verghese, but the pitch shouldn't take too much spin, so we've stuck with Camps.

[Martin] Good luck.

[Berry] Well we're all set up here and Cloete and Malone are out in the middle, so let's take you there to start the action.

How embarrassing. Congrats to the "A"s on taking the series, to Feeney on his maiden one-day century, and to the whole of the bowling side for a fantastic bowling effort.

Us selectors may have a bit of a worry now.

Gutted with my nought, but hugely happy to see our team take the 'top' boys down. Awesome display by Rose, Hoy, Law, Walsh, Feeney and Moon. These guys are really showing their worth, and I'm proud of 'em.

Great show by Mr. Markus for the opposing team, too. He certainly had us troubled for a while there - I've always enjoyed watching him dismantle Dev League teams (aside from CW Green), and I've seen it again here. Looks like we got a taste of his medicine! Not quite the medicine I needed on the day, that's for sure.

Looking forward to the next game.

When it happens once, it's part of life, when it happens twice - and it is being thoroughly outplayed by supposedly inferior players with both bat and ball - you have to question what on earth is going on.

Twice, our batting has failed to amass anything respectable, and twice our bowling has been unpenetrative and profligate. It's just not acceptable. We have to prevent this whitewash in the next game, heads are on the line.

Well done lads, great performance once again.

Couldn't be happier with the last 2 games, the bowlers again proved they are capable of taking apart the CW XI batting lineup, pick of the bowlers being Chris Law once again, being supported well by Hoy and Rose.

Hats off to Craig, Alex and Eclipse. Craig threw the bat around at his end, while Alex held his end up and ticked the strike over.

Alex kept chugging away to his first ever 100, well done mate, great effort.

Comfortable win in the end, not sure the CW XI boys will like being showed up by us :p The third game will be interesting, with us trying out a few new things here and there - after all, it is for charity.
