Walsh is underrated because people remember him primarily for 3rd wheeling Marshall and Ambrose. Became a great attack leader in his own right and had several great years in the 2nd half of his career, didn't he?

He did. Fine bowler indeed. Chucked his quicker one though. Which is a shame

Walsh can go into the 'only ATG due longevity' hall of fame
Walsh is massively underrated. Bowled to a generation of better batsmen than WI of late 70s and early 80s. The monumental thing about Walsh was that he was rarely taken apart by even the best. A thing even Ambrose cannpt boast of.

How good could Winston Benjamin have been? I know he's considered better than Kenny, was he Patterson level?

Also, is his test average of 27 the best ever for a specialist bowler who never took a fivefer? Itd have to be close

I don’t agree with Ambrose being unequivocally next after Marshall. Michael Holding is as good it gets. Obviously for the stats monger his shorter career and not playing against Pakistan leaves a hole in his ozone.
Wayne Daniel was as good as most but Clive Lloyd didn’t like him.

Daniel sometimes had a very slow run up and looked a bit slower than the others.
Then other times he ran in much harder and looked better. A bit like joffra maybe

Most of the footage available of Daniel bowling is from the 1976 series when he’d just turned 20 and had a lumbering run up and was a bit erratic. Archer not in his league yet.

Everyone at middlesex loves Daniel, great on the pitch and a wonderful character in the tavern after

I'd add Franklyn Stephenson to any "Best of the Rest" WI list. He would have played Tests but for his ban after touring South Africa. He had pace and swing and was one of the first 'quicks' to use a successful slower ball.
Almost 800 FC wickets at an average of under 25 speaks for itself.
