even he wasn't a "pure" enforcer either in the sense that when he was in that sizzling form he could knock the base of your middle stump out as easily as put a bouncer at your throat

I've always thought of 'enforcer' as being a role appended to a bowler who isn't taking as many wickets as they might, especially if it's because they persist in pitching too short.

like even the morkels of the world etc, guys known for being able to bang it in, are still talked about higher as bowlers for times they pitched the thing up

Been a while since I've watched him but I'd have said Pat Cummins is a bit of an enforcer. Is he still bouncing out the tail every game?
